PART 2: FERENC NAGY: THE CIA MAN IN PERMNDEX

Who is really this Dr. Ferenc Nagy that exercised a leadership position in Permindex? The fact is that this little known individual was an international figure which is recognized to have played a major role on the international scene.

In 1946, after the war, Ferenc Nagy was elected Prime Minister of Hungary in this country first democratic election. At the same time, he also acted as Hungarian Minister of Defence. Opposed to Communism, he was forced to resign his position after his 5 years old son was kidnapped, and immigrated to the United States. Shortly after his arrival in the

, Nagy co-wrote an essay on his political career, titled The Struggle behind the Iron Curtain that was published by MacMillan in 1948. Royalties from this book help him buy a 130 acres farm in Herndon, Virginia. Those acreages of land, situated West of Washington D.C., gain significantly in value in 1958 when the Eisenhower administration choose to establish what is now Dulles International Airport just West of Herndon.

In Washington, Nagy kept important ties with the US government and the CIA during the Cold War. In 1956, Nagy and the CIA were accused by the Soviets of being behind the Hungarian uprising. A November 8^th 1956 New York Times dispatch reported:
“Soviet propaganda outlets reported today that the uprising in Hungary has been financed by the Western Powers and that advance plans had been approved by the "highest circles" in the United States. (…) The allegation of outside planning and support for the uprising against the Hungarian government was contained in a report from Vienna broadcast by the Moscow radio tonight. This named Ferenc Nagy, former Hungarian premier and [International] Peasant Union leader ..., as the key figure in the supposed plot against the regime. The report said that Mr. Nagy met with Hungarian emigres in Munich "not long before the beginning of the rebellion in

Hungary

." He was alleged to have told them that he had just come from the

United States

where plans for the revolt had been "agreed upon in the highest circles." Mr. Nagy is also alleged to have worked out plans for supporting the revolt with arms and supplies in agreement with "American Organizations."

Such activities are the reason why Nagy was described as “a long-time asset of CIA Deputy Director of Plans, Frank Wisner”, who in 1956 pressured President Eisenhower to intervene in Hungary after URSS intervention. Wisner was the creator of a CIA’s organization that concentrated on "propaganda, economic warfare; preventive direct action, including sabotage, anti-sabotage, demolition and evacuation measures; subversion against hostile states, including assistance to underground resistance groups, and support of indigenous anti-Communist elements in threatened countries of the free world." In the 1990s, those kinds of activities will be revealed of being part of the NATO “Stay Behind” operation, after Italian authorities discovered the existence of the Gladio network in this country.

Oddly enough, Permindex was incorporated in Basle in 1956, the same year when Ferenc Nagy travelled to Germany and Switzerland on the eve of the Hungarian uprising. It is certainly not by pure chance that Nagy, Wisner CIA’s asset, choose this busy period of his life to become one of Permindex’s directors. In all evidence, Nagy proximity with the CIA and the fact that at the same time he associated with Permindex is enough to let us conclude that Permindex was related to Wisner’s anti-Communist crusade, in as much that it was directed by Nagy, one of CIA’s important collaborators in its anti-Soviet operations. Also, the facts that the Italian Gladio network was revealed to be coupled with the P2 freemasonic lodge and that Bloomfield described Permindex’s George Mantello as a 33^rd degree Freemason, tend to indicate that Permindex may be intricated with the CIA’s Italian Gladio network.

But, if we need a more official and explicite proof of the Nagy-Permindex-CIA linkage we can found it in writing in a CIA document transmitted to the House Select Committee on Assassination (HSCA) and released by the US National Archives in the middle of the 1990’s. This CIA’s memo dated 3/24/67 indicated that:
“NAGY, Ferenc, (…) was a cleared contact of the International Organizations Division. His 201 file (i.e. its CIA personal file) contains a number of references to his association with the World Trade Center.”

The memo concluded on those words: “The attached documents are related to an investigation of Permindex initiated in 1959. This was the result of a query from NAGY asking if CIA would be interested in using Permindex in some capacity. The documents did not indicate whether or not CIA decided to use Permindex.”

It is hard to believe that the CIA, engaged in an epic battle to counter Communism in Italy, and active in organizing its Gladio network, would say no to "a query from NAGY asking if CIA would be interested in using Permindex in some capacity". Most probably, "The documents did not indicate whether or not CIA decided to use Permindex” because the answer was to obvious!

After the failure of the Hungarian uprising, Nagy became active in other CIA anti-communist projects, particularly those concerning Latin America and Cuba. Nagy eventually moved to Dallas, Texas where he was residing in 1963, allegedly engaged in anti-Castro activities.

It is worth keeping in mind that Frank Wisner, Ferenc Nagy’s CIA controller, was the superior of William Harvey and Cord Meyer, two of the CIA men that were implicated in the JFK assassination by CIA officer E. Howard Hunt in his death bed confession. In 1962, Bill Harvey, after an important conflict with the Kennedys, was exiled to Italy where he became Chief of Station in Rome. According to Hunt, Harvey organized JFK’s assassination from Rome and recruited Corsican sharpshooters to accomplish the President execution.

To further document the relationship between Nagy-Permindex and the JFK assassination, it is also important to know that Ferenc Nagy was identified as someone that had visited Guy Banister's detective office in New Orleans by Bannister's secretary. The private eye was an ex-FBI agent that was directing anti-Castro activities in Louisiana and was related to Lee Harvey Oswald and Clay Shaw.

In conclusion, what we now learn from documents of the Bloomfield Archives is that Dr. Nagy was the initiator of contacts with David Rockefeller at the beginning of year 1960, and that Rockefeller did collaborate with Permindex and CMC in order to speed up the development of his World Trade Center organization.

The facts
1) that the Bloomfield letters show Nagy, the CIA “cleared contact”, as an autonomous Permindex decision maker in this relation with such important personality as David Rockefeller;
and
2) that the ex-Hungarian did offer the Central Intelligence Agency to use Permindex in 1959, tend to demonstrate that Nagy was in command of Permindex and willing to use it to fulfil CIA’s objectives, or those of rogue CIA’s officers like William Harvey.
Thus, if we give credence to E. Howard Hunt’s confession to the effect that Bill Harvey planned the JFK assassination from Rome, the connexion between Clay Shaw and the Roman CMC become of the utmost interest.
According to some reports, Clay Shaw, the New Orleans businessman who was in contact with Lee Harvey Oswald and who was accused by Jim Garrison of conspiracy in the JFK assassination, only joined Rome CMC’s directorship in 1962. There is a strong probability that documents from the Bloomfield Archives dating from years 1961 to 1963 can clarify the circumstances in which Shaw joined CMC and Permindex. But we won’t know before a few years if the Louis Bloomfield Archives contain such information, that because Library and Archives Canada (LAC) --against its donator’s will-- is actually keeping secret the Permindex documents that are less than 50 years old, on pretext that they contain information that are protected by a client-attorney privilege.

This pretext seems quite frivolous when we consider that the above Bloomfield’s letter to Dr. Imfeld was kept secret until 2010 for this same reason. Yet, this letter was sent in Carbon copies (CC) to two other correspondents, and even by a blind CC, that is by hiding to Dr. Imfeld that a secret correspondent was copied on the letter. Furthermore, Dr. Imfeld wasn’t lawyer Bloomfield’s client but one of his associates in Permindex, and Canadian jurisprudence is clear on the effect that documents from a lawyer acting as a company’s associate or manager aren’t protected by professional secret. That any competent archivist could declare such a letter covered by an attorney-client secret is nonsense.

The poor judgement that is at the origin of LAC’s decision to keep secret an important part of the Bloomfield Archives, that could contain information on the activities of Permindex, Ferenc Nagy, and Clay Shaw in years 1961 to 1963, is depriving the world of important information about the JFK assassination.

Just as the Louis Bloomfield Archives —for the first time—documented the relation between Ferenc Nagy’s Permindex and David Rockfeller’s WTC, the other Bloomfield documents kept secret by Library and Archives Canada —against their donator’s will— may well contain exclusive information on the relationship between Ferenc Nagy, Clay Shaw and Permindex. The JFK assassination being definitely one of the most important historic events of the Twentieth Century, it is deplorable that a national historical institution like Library and Archives Canada locks its doors on such documents.

PART 1:
PERMINDEX’S FERENC NAGY MEETS DAVID ROCKFELLER

After Jim Garrison charged Clay Shaw, director of the New Orleans International Trade Mart, of conspiracy in the JFK assassination, and following revelation that Shaw was one of the directors of Rome Centro Mondiale Commerciale (CMC), many observers tried to find out what was the relation between Shaw’s International Trade Mart and CMC--Permindex’s mother corporation. Furthermore, since Centro Mondiale Commerciale translated in English as “World Trade Center”, many were wondering if there was any link between Permindex and the World Trade Center organization, which most prominent establishment was the New York City’s WTC, David Rockfeller’s creation.

Such a connection between David Rockfeller’s WTC and Permindex would be significant because it would link the shadowy Permindex, this mysterious international corporation which did vanish in thin air after JFK assassination, to the Rockefeller’s omnipotent organization composed of institutions such as the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission and the Bilderberg Group, entities who, far from disappearing since the Sixties, now seem to control the world’s politic, not to say the world itself. Remember also that, even if “World Trade Center” is today a commonly known appellation and even if there is now more than 300 WTCs established around the planet, the concept of the “World Trade Center” was something unheard of in 1960. For instance, Clay Shaw’s organization in New Orleans was an “International Trade Mart” and in the Sixties was complementary to an “International House” with which it merged only in 1985 to form a WTC.

Interestly enough, the Louis M. Bloomfield Archives, hold by Library and Archives Canada in Ottawa, contain some documents proving that Roman CMC was the inspiration for the WTC concept and that a relation existed between Permindex and David Rockefeller. Furthermore, those documents show that Ferenc Nagy, a former Hungarian Prime Minister who had strong contacts with the CIA, was the direct liaison between Permindex and Rockefeller.

In a February 4th, 1960 letter, Louis Bloomfield wrote from its Montreal law office to Dr Ernest Wolf, a Permindex’s directors residing in Basle, Switzerland:
“You’ll be pleased to hear that David Rockefeller had a meeting yesterday with Dr Nagy, which I was unable to attend on account of my present physical condition. It was a great success. Mr. Rockefeller pointed out that it may take considerable time before his own project is realized and suggested immediate collaboration the form of which I shall discuss with Mr. Rockefeller on my meeting with him in a week or so, when I am better able to travel. In the meantime, Mr. Rockefeller contacted the Chairman of the New York Port Authority, which is the principal mover of the scheme for New York and which is a multi-billion dollar independent concern, to start technical discussions on collaboration.”
Bloomfield completed this letter by informing Wolf that Permindex’s literature shall be distributed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and its 33 field offices, according to an article that was published in the February 1, 1960 issue of Foreign Commerce Weekly.

Six days later, on February 10th, Louis Bloomfield reported the developments on his negotiation with Rockefeller in the middle of a letter that, once again, reflects the confusion reigning between the Permindex’s partners, a subject that we saw previously in this blog. In this document, Bloomfield wrote to Dr Ernst W. Imfeld, the Zurich lawyer whom the 1996 Swiss Independant Commission of Experts to investigate Switzerland’s role in the Nazi period did identify as an associate of SS Friedrich Kadgien, a Nazi involved in “criminal methods for acquiring currency, securities and diamonds stolen from Jewish victims” (see previous post in this blog).

Bloomfield stated:
“I am going to New York tonight for very important meeting with Dr. Nagy, the Port of New York Authority and Mr. David Rockefeller’s personal representative, on a scheme of collaboration between the two groups. (…) Following the meetings tomorrow and Friday, we are to have a second meeting with Mr. David Rockefeller some time next week, but in view of the cries and complaints from the shareholders, I have no alternative but to postpone my meeting with Mr. Rockefeller in order to examine the situation in Europe on the spot.”

In a next blog entry, we will come back to this document and on the conflict between Bloomfield and his European shareholders and analyze the hints this last letter give us relatively to the Permindex hierarchical structure. For now, let’s focus on the Permindex-Rockefeller connection.

First of all, we should take note that even if Montreal lawyer Louis Bloomfield kept his European partners informed about the Rockefeller meetings, he didn’t consult them or seek their approval. From the two above letters, it is clear that only Bloomfield and Dr. Ferenc Nagy are involved in the negotiations with Rockefeller, and more specifically that Nagy is the one that did initiate this contact and had –alone– the first meeting with David Rockefeller. That is a detail quite revealing.

In the previous Bloomfield Archives’ Permindex documents reproduced in this blog, we saw that the “genious” behind Permindex was Georges Mantello, a 33rd degree Freemason who, through its contacts with the Savoy Royal family, was able to obtain Roman lands at “dirt cheap” price. From those documents, we also noticed that the management of the Permindex corporation relied in the hands of directors such as Italians Georges Mantello and his son Enrico, and Swiss Drs. Ernest Wolf and E. W. Imfeld. We also saw that Permindex’s primary business was to speculate on those lands through the creation of societies (Capocatta, Marina Reale) in which international investors (like Edmund de Rothschild from Paris, Hans Seligman from Switzerland, or Montreal attorney Stanley Vineberg) took speculative participations. But what we are now witnessing is that, apart of those real estate deals, in the matter of CMC’s chore business, that is of its international trade promotion activities, Permindex’s true leader was Dr Ferenc Nagy; the man that took the initiative to meet David Rockefeller alone in New York and whose actions are only reported to CMC’s European directors through Louis Bloomfield’s short letters.

The leadership role of Dr. Nagy in Permindex is important to acknowledge because as we will learn in the next chapter of this blog, Ferenc Nagy was a cleared CIA contact and, according to declassified secret documents, he did offer to put Permindex at the disposition of the Central Intelligence Agency,

THE PERMINDEX PAPERS IV

FREEMASON GEORGES MANTELLO'S MONOPOLY MONEY
In the two previous posts, we have view a series of Permindex documents from the Louis Bloomfield Archives kept at Library and Archives Canada (LAC). They showed us that, beside Bloomfield, Montreal attorney Stanley Vineberg, from the Phillips, Bloomfield, Vineberg and Goodman law office, and French bankers Edmund Rothschild and François Pereire were related to Permindex real estate deals that took place in 1959. Those papers also gave us the details of this dealing that consist in the acquisition by the Permindex syndicate of lands from Countess Calvi, a member of the Savoy Royal family, who was represented by Carlo d’Amelio, a director of Centro Mondiale Commerciale. Finally, the last post also demonstrated that the relations between Montreal lawyer Louis M. Bloomfield and Italian Georges Mantello, a 33rd degree Freemason that was Permindex’s acting director, weren’t always harmonious.

But, whatever was the gravity of the October 1959 altercation reported in the previous post, Bloomfield and Mantello kept working together on Permindex and other financial deals for the years to come. And, like we will see below, the two men had for project the formation of a Venezuelan corporation with a capital of nothing less than 10 millions dollars, an amount that, in 1959’s dollars, was the equivalent of 75 millions of today’s money..

As we’ve seen earlier, on October 20th 1959 Louis Bloomfield wrote to Joseph Slifka, a New-York businessman interested to buy shares of Permindex, and expressed his dissatisfaction with the way Mantello was conducting business. Two days later, on October 22, Bloomfield cabled to Georges Mantello a message where his dismay is again evident. In a telegraphic formulation, Bloomfield wrote: “Mantello greatly disturbed puzzled tour cable Stop If Seligman not serious pointless my coming Stop cannot understand why telephoning Seligman clarify rendezvous His cable affects your honor.”
The Seligman referred to in this cable was Hans Seligman a Swiss banker head of the Hans Seligman-Schurch & Co investment banking house located in Basel. Seligman and Ferenc Nagy, a former Hungarian premier and a notorious anti-Communist, were among the initiators of the first attempt to found Permindex on Switzerland soil in 1956. Together, they were members of the board of directors of the CMC, Centro Mondiale Commerciale. There would be chapters and chapters to write about Seligman and Nagy and their relations to the anti-communist intelligence network. (Those interested can read a text from researcher Lisa Pease at: http://beyond-the-illusion.com/files/Conspiracy/Assassination/permindex. ) But, to go back to the Bloomfield-Mantello relation, it is interesting to understand the meaning of the phrase “His cable affects your honor” in the above document. In a very diplomatic language, Louis Bloomfield is telling Georges Mantello that information from Seligman’s cable contradict Mantello, and this formulation is just a step before telling flatly to Mantello that he’s a liar. Again, this kind of tense exchange shows that Louis Bloomfield shouldn’t per se be seen as the supreme commander of Permindex, and that Georges Mantello was directing it on its own will.

But whatever tension exists between Bloomfield and Mantello, the two men didn’t stop doing business together. In fact, the day following the above cable, on October 23, Louis Bloomfield sent to the Mantellos a $57,000 USD draft and the following agreement guaranteeing his brothers in law’s participation in Marina Reale, Corporation, a Panamean company that was holding sea front lands sold through Permindex. The brothers in law were Moe and Max Pascal, and according to the agreement, their $57,000 down deposit was representing 40% of a total participation that would totalize $142,500 USD. And this total amount was only a 7 ½ interest in Marina Reale which total capitalization was thus in the amount of 1,9 million US dollars.

It is of some interest to note here that the two Pascals, Bloomfield’s brothers in law, were the owners of Pascal company, a firm that has an hardware chain of stores in Canada that sold firearms in the domestic market for huntsman but that was also listed in government papers as arms trader. It is also of interest to note that Harry Pascal, Louis Bloomfield’s nephew, later worked for Tibor Rosenbaum’s BCCI (Bank of Credit and Commerce International) and later for the Rothschilds of London. The Pascals agreement above also gives us more insight on Louis Bloomfield’s parts in those complex real estate dealings. The agreement read: “all such shares to be held in escrow by Mr Bloomfield until full payment has been made by all the participants.”

This detail clarifies the reason why Louis Bloomfield, at the time of the Garrison investigation, was described as “the major shareholder of Permindex for parties unknown”. As an intermediate between real estate sellers and buyers, and as the architect of complex corporate structures extending from Italy to Panama and Venezuela and passing through France, Canada and United States, Bloomfield was also acting as a clearing house holding in escrow Permindex and Marina Reale’s shares up to the closing of transaction, that is up to the moment when the full payments and documentations of those deals are completed.

Another document, a November 26th 1959 letter from Louis Bloomfield to Hans Seligman gives more precision on the Montreal lawyer’s relation to Permindex. In it, Bloomfield wrote: “I did not purchase, for my group, the 10% or Permindex shares referred to in your letter. These were to be placed at my disposal on behalf of my clients against future acquisition.”

It is somewhat interesting to note that even Hans Seligman, the Swiss banker, had trouble to understand who was owning what part of Permindex. But this letter also gives us a hint that Bloomfield himself didn’t possess a definitive perception of what was happening. He wrote: “Therefore, pending further clarification of the entire Permindex picture, I cannot recognize the statement set out in your letter.”

Another Bloomfield’s letter, sent one week before the one sent to Seligman, illustrates how much the Montreal lawyer is kept in the dark about details of the businesses conducted in Italy by Georges Mantello. Four months after the July 17 letter in which he asked if he should go ahead with the formation of a Canadian corporation issuing for 26 millions Bolivars of debentures and when they will go to Venezuela (see previous post for the original letter), on November 19th, 1959, Louis Bloomfield wrote Mantello to “confirm our telephone conversation that you want the debentures issued in United States Dollars instead of in Bolivars.” The headline of this letter refers to a “Canada Venezitalo Realty Investments Limited” company, that is in all evidence the name of the Canadian corporation that Bloomfield created for Mantello, but there exist no trace of this society in the Canadian government registers or on the internet.

This letter also demonstrates that this change of mind about the currency to use is a last minute one and that it occurred after Bloomfield had the Bolivars debentures printed and that he now need to have them destroyed. What is most interesting is to read the listing of the debentures to be printed. As mentioned by Bloomfield, they add up to a total of 2200 certificates and, even if Bloomfield didn’t gave this precision, their combined value totalizes 10 millions US dollars, an amount that in 1959 dollars would represent 75 millions in 2010 money.

Well, it is not only quite surprising to see that a corporation issuing for such an important amount of debentures could be created from scratches, but there is some questions to be asked about the seriousness of its director who, overnight, decided to have this amount of certificates issued in US dollars instead of Bolivars. One of the questions to ask is the following: “Is Mantello, the 33rd degree Freemason behind Permindex, really at the head of a financial empire and he is really in the capacity to make such important last minute decision? Or is he only a conman?” Since, through the work of eminent lawyers like Louis Bloomfield and Stanley Vineberg, he was able to associate in his deals bankers like Edmund Rothschild, François Pereire and Hans Seligman and many businessmen like New Yorker Joseph Slifka, and that on a long period of time, we can exclude the possibility that Mantello’s dealing were just fraud. But still, since there subsist no tangible trace of Mantello’s financial empire, --that is no public trail of an organisation that reunite corporations with such ambitious names as Centro Mondiale Commerciale and Permindex (Permanent Industrial Exhibition), along with Marina Reale, that had a capitalization of 1,9 million USD (in 1959), and this last intercontinental corporation named Venezitalo Realty Investments Limited with its 10 millions US dollars debentures-- one has to wonder if Mantello’s multinational empire wasn’t of an underground type, more related to secret intelligence or organized crime than to official international business. Again, we should keep in mind that if it wasn’t for the accusations linking Permindex and CMC to the JFK assassination, those two international corporations would today be non-entities unknown from the public.

For its part, Louis Bloomfield had his own questions to ask. In his letter, he wrote: “Why so many certificates? Would it not be easier to have them, say, in denominations of $100,000. $50,000. $25,000. $10,000. $5,000. and $1,000 as we had agreed upon for the Bolivars debentures?” There is no trace of Mantello answer to this question in the available Bloomfield archives. But what comes in mind when we consider Bloomfield’s question is that Mantello’s debentures look more like an exchange currency, some kind of convenient Monopoly money, than certificates of investment. So one has to ask: if it is not to play Monopoly, for what game is intended this new discreet currency put at the disposition of an Italian 33rd degree Freemason? Secret intelligence operations financing? Contraband deals, including arms or drug deals?
Well for now, we don’t know a lot about the Mantello’s activities and intentions. And —what is the most important thing—we can clearly see that Louis Bloomfield neither is aware of Georges Mantello’s plan. Again, this kind of information should be remember to those who concluded that Bloomfield was the chief of Permindex and the engineer of the JFK assassination just because he was holding a majority of Permindex’s shares on behalf of others.

Whatever was the role of Permindex in regard of JFK assassination, and whatever was the part Bloomfield played in CMC and Permindex, the Louis M. Bloomfield archives, held at Library and Archives Canada in Ottawa, clearly show that the characterisation of the Montreal lawyer as the chief master of the JFK assassination was a false conclusion and an exaggeration. It is, in all evidence, to clear his name in this matter and establish the historic facts that Louis Bloomfield donated his papers to the Canadian Public Archives. And again, Library and Archives Canada not only affects the honour of its donator but is dishonouring itself by refusing to fulfill its commitment toward him and by keeping secret part of those archives against Bloomfield’s will.

THE PERMINDEX PAPERS III

THE INTERNATIONAL REAL ESTATE DEAL

In the previous post, we have seen four Permindex documents originating from the Bloomfield Archives kept at Library and Archives Canada (LAC). They allowed us to learn that Montreal attorney Stanley Vineberg, from the Phillips, Bloomfield, Vineberg and Goodman law office, and French bankers Edmund Rothschild and François Pereire were participants in one of the earliest Permindex real estate deal that took place in 1959.

The next series of Permindex papers reproduced below will help us understand the nature of this secretive organisation and the part that each actor was playing in it. Principally, they demonstrate that, at least in one Permindex 1959 real estate deal, Montreal lawyer Stanley Vineberg played a prominent role and was consulted by his law associate Louis Bloomfield at every stage of the transaction. The documents also allow us to understand that, in 1959, Georges Mantello, a 33rd degree Freemason, was using Permindex to mount financial transactions. In the real estate deal referred to in those documents, Mantello appears as a realtor whose function is to find buyers for a property sold by Countess Calvi who is represented by Carlo d’Amelio, an Italian count who is also acting as president for Centro Mondiale Comerciale, Permindex’s parent corporation. For his part, Louis Bloomfield appears to be the representative of a syndicate of buyers ready to pay to take possession of the Countess Calvi’s property. For those buyers, the main interest was to invest in real estate whose value was supposed to skyrocket, but, as we will see later, those buyers didn’t acquire lot of land but shares in Permindex or in others corporation like the Panamean Marina Reale corporation, that were the registered owners of the properties.

It is interesting to note that some of those documents, like the three next cables sent by Louis Bloomfield to Georges Mantello between April 6 and April 10 1959, put together and viewed with other brusque letters in the archives, allow us to understand that the communications between the Canadian lawyer Bloomfield and Georges Mantello, the Italian Permindex’s director, aren’t perfect and that their relations are a little tense. Again, this knowledge tends to make us review the fast and too hurried conclusion, made by some authors, of seeing lawyer Louis Bloomfield as the supreme head of Permindex, and thus as the engineer of the JFK assassination; a line of thought that have for starting hypothesis the assumption that Permindex is somehow related to this historical crime. Remember that those, in JFK assassination literature, who view Bloomfield as a potential participant in the Dallas conspiracy, have done so because he was described as the “main shareholder of Permindex for parties unknown”.
The first cable, dated April 6 1959, by itself seems innocuous. Its only contains a line with the question: “When are you coming?”, and an imperative demand: “Cable immediately!” But, and it will become evident in view of other documents, this communication is a sign of the impatience and irritation that Bloomfield resent toward Mantello.

We don’t know exactly what answer Bloomfield received from Mantello because the part of the Bloomfield Archives containing most of the Permindex documents consists of books of outgoing correspondence from the Montreal lawyer to his correspondents. But the next day, on April 7, 1959, Bloomfield cabled Mantello his instructions. In clear, Bloomfield asked Mantello to transfer his participation of 100 000 $ in the real estate deal to the account of Stanley Vineberg at Montreal Royal bank. When this amount will be received, Bloomfield, through the Royal Bank, will cable a total of 350 000$ to the Bank Lavoro in Roma as a deposit for the payment to be made at the conclusion of the deal.

Then, three days later, on April 10, Bloomfield, who probably had receive the money, sent a direct message to Mantello, telling the Italian director that he didn’t respect his promise of cabling some documents for examination prior to Mantello visit to Miami, the following week. This information about a Miami meeting is quite intriguing. After learning in previous cables that Bloomfield and Mantello projected a trip to Venezuela related to Permindex, we now discover that, in order to complete the Permindex deal, they considered going to Florida. Further cables will teach us the reason of this trip.

Bloomfield had to be patient with the Italian director, because his archives only shows echoes of their dealing 17 days later on April 27. At that date, Bloomfield sent a cable and a letter to his law associate Stanley Vineberg who is in Miami Beach on the Don Quixote boat.

In the cable, Bloomfield announced that the Mantellos (Georges and his son Enrique) and Carlo d’Amelio will arrive Friday night, the first of May; then he asked Vineberg if he can meet them in New York. To his letter, Bloomfield joined a copy of a Contract of Sale.

Since it is a normal occurrence for Canadian businessmen to spend part of the cold winter in Florida, and since some Montreal newspapers mentioned that Stanley Vineberg was doing so in 1959, we can deduct that the Miami trip had for primary purpose a meeting with him. But, the fact that both Bloomfield and Mantello would consider such a displacement in relation to the Permindex real estate deal, reveal that Vineberg was playing a prominent part in this business.

Stanley Vineberg’s importance is confirmed in the following May 8th letter from Louis Bloomfield to Carlo d’Amelio in which Bloomfield wrote that “Mr Vineberg and I will make arrangement to come to Rome toward the end of this month in order to work out a physical division of the property mutually satisfactory to both parties.”

Five days later, on May 13th, 1959, another letter from the same correspondents confirms that Louis Bloomfield had to consult Stanley Vineberg on details of the real estate deal such as the bank to use in the money transfer.

In all evidence, the transfer of money was done and real estate deal that was the object of the above communications was closed; at least, for a few months the Bloomfield Archives contain no document referring to this deal.

Then, in July 17th we find echoes of the Venezuelan project for which Bloomfield and Mantello were contemplating a trip to South America. In a July 17th letter, Bloomfield ask Mantello if he should form a Canadian corporation that should issue debentures for an amount of 26 millions Bolivars. And ask: “When are we going to Venezuela?”

For those who think that this new project and future trip is a sign of good relationship between Bloomfield and Mantello, the next document will prove that the honeymoon, if there was one, wasn’t very long.

We have no trace of an actual trip to Venezuela, but three months later a Bloomfield letter to Joseph Slifka, a New York businessman, shows that the Montreal lawyer and the Italian Freemason had a serious confrontation. In this October 20th. 1959 letter, Bloomfield relate: “I still have not recovered from the shock of your telephone conversation today when you told me that I should have arranged to see that the cheque which you issued to Mantello personally was made out to the Banco Nazionale del Lavoro.”

“To refresh your memory, Bernard (Bloomfield) was in the room at the time, I completely lost my temper with Mantello and wanted to walk out of the room when he refused to treat the affair in an orderly manner and have the cheques made out to the bank.”

Reading about such friction between Bloomfield and Mantello, Permindex’s Italian director, really made one doubt that the Montreal lawyer was in control of Permindex. Thus, even if we accept the possibility that this company was used to finance the JFK assassination, we should consider that others then Bloomfield were the true controllers behind the shadowy firm.
Again, such findings make us understand the reasons why Louis Bloomfield, whose name was associated with Permindex and the JFK assassination in literature published first in 1968 and most largely in 1978, gave his archives to what was then named the Canadian Public Archives. They also make us understand how much Library and Archives Canada, who still refuse to open part of Bloomfield Archives against its donator’s will, is making itself an obstacle to the knowledge of historical truth and to the reestablishment of Louis Bloomfield’s reputation.

THE PERMINDEX PAPERS II

THE UNKNOWN PERMINDEX STORY :

CANADIAN ATTORNEYS,

VENEZULEAN CORPORATION

AND FRENCH ROTHSCHILD

It is highly curious that sisters companies Permindex and Centro Mondiale Commerciale, with such ambitious names, didn’t make their marks in the business world. In reality, if it wasn’t for the fact that they became famous for their alleged association to the JFK assassination, those two companies wouldn’t have left any trace in history. When we consider that Permindex stands for Permanent Industrial Exhibition, we can only find suspect that, far from achieving permanency, this company was of the “Fly by Night” type, and that, instead of exhibiting anything, it was shrouded in a veil of secrecy.

Before the partial opening of the Louis Bloomfield Archives at Library and Archives Canada (LAC), the information about Permindex and CMC were very few. In his article, PERMINDEX: The International Trade in Disinformation, published in 1983 in Lobster magazine author Stephen Dorril synthesized the rare information then available about Permindex (see http://www.8bitmode.com/rogerdog/lobster/lobster02.pdf for the complete text) :
“The origins of Permindex appear to lie in New Orleans in 1948 - probably with Clay Shaw's International Trade Mart. In 1956 Permindex - apparently representing a "group of American business interests" - decided to move into Europe and set up in Basle, Switzerland. Two companies were set up under the auspices of the Permindex mother company: Building Finance (AG) and Parkhof (AG). (AG just indicates that this is a private company.) These two companies were supposed to buy land and develop it with skyscrapers, parks etc - the press accounts at the time were full of grandiose plans. The President of Permindex was Ferenc Nagy. But it appears that he was not the controller of the companies - more a nominal head, a front man who would appear attractive to Government officials and politicians. The only director who appears to have been identified was George Mantello, a Rumanian in Swiss business and media circles.”
“Permindex's plans in Basle appear to have generated considerable commercial suspicion. None of its plans came to fruition and the Basle press, which had earlier devoted columns and columns to its plans, became critical. In 1961 the Basle Workers' Paper (…) accused Nagy and Permindex of being "a bunch of swindlers". (…) Nagy sued for libel, won the case, but was awarded very small damages (...) Shortly after the trial Parkhof (AG) went bankrupt and, as one of the papers put it, it became clear that what Nagy and Permindex had been up to was a basic con.”

The new information available from the Louis Bloomfield Archives at LAC confirms this impression. As we have seen earlier, in 1960 Permindex was primarily engaged in a real estate speculative deal consisting of reselling Roman lands acquired at a “dirt cheap price” by 33rd degree Freemason George Mantello through his contact with the Royal Savoy family. Many of the documents in the Bloomfield Archives also corroborate that Mantello was the directing force behind Permindex, since Louis Bloomfield, in his letters and cables, seems to negotiate with him and to seek instructions from him relatively to Permindex’s business.
But, more then just confirming what was previously known, the Permindex documents in the Bloomfield Archives expose the full magnitude of this discreet company.
For instance, the few documents reproduced below show that :
1- Permindex and Mantello’s businesses extended to South America where a Venezuelan corporation with impressive capitalization was mounted by Bloomfield according to Mantello’s directives;
2- One of Bloomfield’s associates in the prestigious law firm Phillips, Bloomfield, Vineberg & Goodman, was implicated in the Permindex dealing and had enough importance as to authorize who will take part in the deal ;
3- Edmund de Rothschild through his Parisian Compagnie Financière was a participant in one of the earliest Permindex real estate deal.

The following 1959 letters and cables, presented in chronological order, illustrated the unknown extent of the Permindex activities.

In a very short cable addressed to Georges Mantello and dated February 20, 1959, Louis Bloomfield give a first hint that Permindex business extend to Venezuela, something that we will see in more detail with other documents.

In April 1rst 1959, Louis Bloomfield sent three communications that reveal both Stanley Vineberg and Edmund Rothschild’s links to Permindex. In a first cable, he urged Georges Mantello to have his son Enrico provide legal and fiscal documentation to someone called “Pereire”, in order for him to be able to inspect a property. Other documents in the Bloomfield Archives give the full identity of this “Pereire” as being François Pereire from the Compagnie Financière, a private Paris bank in which Edmund de Rothschild is the principal shareholder. In the same message, Bloomfield informed Mantello that Vineberg is expecting him in Montreal with “satisfactory documentation”. This statement clearly indicates that attorney Stanley Vineberg, of the Phillips, Bloomfield, Vineberg & Goodman law firm was exercising an authority greater then Bloomfield’s.

A second cable, sent the same day, confirms the above information. First, it is sent to a Pereire at COMPAFINAN, the cable code name for the Compagnie Financière. And it is informing Pereire that “Vineberg agreeable your tenpercent participation”, a phrase that both confirm that Rothschild’s Compagnie Financière had a 10 % interest in this Permindex real estate deal, but also that Stanley Vineberg had enough power in Permindex to have his word on the Rothschild’s participation in this deal.

Another document, dated April 1rst 1959, give us an indication that Louis Bloomfield was in personal contact with Edmund Rothschild and was discussing directly with him about the Permindex real estate affairs. In this letter sent to Abraham Friedman of the Israel Continental Oil Company in Israel, Bloomfield is referring to a previous cable in which he informed Pereire of his project to go to Paris and asked if he could meet Edmund (Rothschild) and discuss Capacotta. The name of a sea front region near Rome, Capacotta was the location of one of the Permindex real estate speculative deal.

Alone, those four documents from the Bloomfield Archives held by Library and Archives Canada, give us unprecedented historical information about Permindex, the very discreet company that, rightly or not, was seen as being related to the JFK assassination. If four one-page documents can bring us so much new information, we have to wonder how much more is contained in the hundreds of other Permindex papers that LAC is still keeping secret against its donator's will? Perhaps, we should also wonder why Library and Archives Canada is behaving in such way?

THE EXCLUSIVE INFORMATION THAT LIBRARY AND ARCHIVES CANADA IS KEEPING SECRET

As explained in the previous posts, the Louis Mortimer Bloomfield Archives kept at Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is a unique and rich collection of documents offering a unique perspective on many historical events of the twentieth century.

One of the most original aspects of the Bloomfield Archives is that they contain numerous exclusive documents about two Italian sisters corporations named Permindex and Centro Mondiale Commerciale (CMC) that were suspected to be used as front by intelligence agencies. Since one of CMC’s directors was Clay Shaw, the New Orleans businessman accused of conspiracy against President John F. Kennedy, rumours about the possible implication of Permindex in the JFK assassination have multiplied in newspapers, books and, now, on the internet.

Louis Mortimer Bloomfield, who donated its papers in 1978 to the Canadian Public Archives, under the condition that they were to be released 20 years after his death (i.e.: in 2004, since he died in 1984), was a Montreal lawyer involved in Permindex’s finance and development. By consequence, his archives contain hundreds of pieces such as cables and letters documenting the activities of this organization. The six cables below, dating from April 1959, are a sample of what can be found in the Boomfield Archives.

All the documents related to CMC and Permindex constitute a unique collection that should be designated as the “Permindex Papers”. Since Library and Archives Canada took the deliberate decision to negate its donator’s stipulation and is still holding secret about 30% of Mr Bloomfield Archives, only a minorities of the Permindex Papers are now available to the public, namely those dating from 1960 and before and having more than 50 years of age. Thus, the documents from years 1961 and higher are still held secret by LAC, and, particularly those of years 1962 and 1963, respectively the years when Clay Shaw joined CMC and the year of JFK assassination.

To fully appreciate the value of LAC’s Bloomfield Archives, we have to consider not only the number of documents that it contains pertaining to Permindex and CMC, but also that information on those two Italians companies has always been an extremely rare commodity.
To this day, the most objective and impartial study of Permindex to have been published was written in 1983 by author Stephen Dorril in Lobster, a British underground magazine of politics, parapolitics and history, (see the links below for more details). Under the title PERMINDEX: The International Trade in Disinformation author Dorril, after researching the origin of the Permindex story, came to the fundamental question:

“But what do we really know about the history of Permindex? Very little it seems. What I have pieced together comes primarily from a selection of newspaper clippings from Switzerland in the late 1950s and early 1960s. How accurate these are I can't say: the press cuttings are vague, internally inconsistent - Permindex was as much a mystery in the 1950s as it is today”.

This statement was made in 1983 and was still valid up to July 2009, the date when LAC finally opened part of the Bloomfield Archives and made available a few dozens document related to Permindex. Then in January 2010, files dating from 1960 and having reached fifty years of age were unlocked by LAC and more than an hundred additional letters and cables about Permindex were made available to the public.
LAC’s opening of the Bloomfield Archives means that, for the first time since the 1960’s, the Permindex mystery may be resolved through the availability of accurate documentation. Normally, any historical institution such as Library and Archives Canada should be proud to give access to information that is unavailable anywhere else, even more when this information related to one of the most important historical event of the twentieth century; the JFK assassination. After all, what is the purpose of an institution as LAC?

It is a pity and a shame to see LAC denying both its donator’s will and its mission. Such a behaviour make one wonders if LAC is acting this way just because some of the peoples in charge are not competent enough to evaluate the extraordinary value of the Bloomfield Archives, or, to the contrary, because someone at Library and Archives Canada found the information in those papers too important to be made public.

Only LAC, by its action or inaction, can give an answer to this interrogation.

As reported in a previous post, the Bloomfield Archives kept at Library and Archives Canada, contain documents that exposed, for the first time, an important relation between Montreal lawyer Louis M. Bloomfield and the Rothschild family.

Previously, I have reproduced a 1960 document showing that Louis Bloomfield was, with Baron Eugene de Rothschild, one of the shareholders of Tri Continental Pipe Line Ltd, a corporation that was granted by Israel 49 years exclusivity on the use of a 16-inch pipeline between the Red Sea and Haifa port on the Mediterranean sea.

I have also explained how Bloomfield’s relations to the Rothschild dated back to the Second World War when the Montreal lawyer had for client Oscar Federer, the manager of the Vitkovice iron plant of Czechoslovakia, an industrial complex held by the Rothschilds, that produced arms for the Nazis under German occupation.

The Bloomfield Archives include many others documents from which we can understand that the relation between Louis Bloomfield and the Rotschilds was significant.

Here is an extract of a January 15, 1965 letter from Louis M. Bloomfield to Alejandro Escandon, a member of one of the wealthiest family in Mexico. In this letter, Bloomfield confirms that the Rothschilds are not only his customers but his friends.

After having introduced Oscar Federer as one of his dearest friends, Bloomfield wrote:
“I brought him to Canada on the 8th August, 1940, and it was through him that I met and acted for the various members of the Rothchild family, who are still my friends (to a certain extent) and clients.”

Elsewhere in the Archives, a passionate 1949 letter from Louis Bloomfield to Baron Eugen de Rothschild shows the importance of the implication of the Montreal lawyer in the international businesses of the powerfull family.

After WWII, the possession of the Vitkovice Mining and Iron Corporation was the object of intense negotiations between the Rothschilds and the Czechoslovakian government. Those talks were complicated because, since 1937, through a clever scheme that implicated many holdings interests (including one Frejas corporation from Sweden), Vitkovice Corporation’s ownership have been transferred, to the English, Alliance Assurance Co, in order to keep it out of reach of the Nazis. But the same maze of legalities that resisted the German invader during the War, was now opposing the legitimate Czech government that wanted to control its crucial iron industry. Thus, to claim possession of Vitkovice, the Czech state could not use his own sovereignty to fix by itself the value of this property, but had to satisfy the exigencies of international laws, that means to pay the Rothschilds the price they were willing to accept.

In August 1949, four years after the end of the war, the negotiations were still opened and, at one point, Louis M. Bloomfield, the Montreal lawyer, felt that his European colleagues were trying to oust him from this case. He then addressed a vehement 3 pages letter to Baron Eugen de Rothschild to make clear to him that he was and has always been central in the Vitkovice scheme. Bloomfield stated:

“(…) I can only assume, therefore, that it is your intention to by-pass me completely in these negotiations. I am, therefore, obliged to call the following facts to your attentions:
It was I who brought the assets wich are presently the basis for negotiation out from Czechoslovakia to London.
It was I who succeeded in making an agreement with the Czechs that their Government would not touch these assets up to the present time.
It was I who deposited with New Court over L320,000.0s.0d. to pay dividends declared for 1937 and 1938.
It was I who succeeded in bringing the shares of Freja to England and Sweden; without these shares no discussions would now be taking place.
It was I who administered Freja jointly with Wetter since 18 years, and I am the only one with full knowledge of all the details concerning Freja.
All of the above would make my participation in the present negotiations in London not only useful but necessary. Further, my connections with the parties involved would enable me to learn unofficially the maximum payment that might be expected from the Czechs and this is a very important thing in view of the amounts involved.”

Such proclamations from Bloomfield himself clearly show that his relations with the Rothschilds revolved around very serious international business and that the Montreal lawyer wasn’t a minor participant in the Rothschild family universe. Furthermore, consider that in 1959, 10 years after that 1949 direct letter, Bloomfield was still making important business with Baron Eugen, by incorporating in Canada Eugen’s Tri Continental Pipeline, and you will have a sense of Bloomfield’s true importance.

Because they shed new light on international historical matters, the Bloomfield Archives located at Library and Archives Canada definitely are one of LAC most precious collection. It is unfortunate that LAC, instead of profiting from the reconnaissance and the fame that should come from offering to the world such historical treasures, have to suffer from the bad image it give itself by hiding an important part of this collection, and that against the will of its donator.

WHY THE BLOOMFIELD ARCHIVES SHOULD BE RELEASED

WOULD BE PUBLIC

In its treatment of the Bloomfield papers, Library and Archives Canada (LAC) seems to be guided by an old suspect ideology according to which the purpose of National Archives is to hide documents rather than to preserve them and make them available. For the archaist archivists adhering to this vision, collecting documents is a mean to get them out of circulation, and preservation means protecting them from the public view.

Already, it is a shame to see LAC keeping secret documents that its donator wanted to make public. But, in view of the nature of the Bloomfield Archives and of the treatment they would be given by the US National Archives, we can also affirm that LAC is fantasying when it considers itself as a modern archives institution, that is as an organization where the people’s right to access historical information is a fundamental value.

The available Bloomfield Archives, and more particularly the papers dating from 1960 and that LAC kept secret until January 2010, contain dozens and dozens of letters documenting Permindex and Centro Mondiale Commerciale (CMC) history. Like most of the JFK Assassination researchers know, those two Italian firms, perhaps wrongly, perhaps rightly, were widely identified in newspapers, books and reports as being CIA fronts related to the JFK Assassination. Very conservatively, we can estimate that the Bloomfield files from years 1961 to 1964 that LAC are still keeping secret, may include hundreds of letters relating to Permindex, like the two below.

If that’s not enough, in files containing miscellaneous Louis Bloomfield correspondences from years 1968 to 1978, there are traces of his reaction to the allegations to the effect that he was an associate of Clay Shaw, the businessman that was at that time indicted in New Orleans by District Attorney Jim Garrison for conspiracy against President John F. Kennedy. After having first appeared in the Italian newspaper Paese Sera, , this assertion was echoed in March, 1968 in Montreal Le Devoir by its New York correspondent Louis Winitzer. Then in September 1968, Canadian Dimension, a Winnipeg magazine, published an article titled Neo-Fascism and the Kennedy Assassination, which was based on Le Devoir’s piece.
The Bloomfield Archives contain this letter from Canadian Dimension editors that is obviously a reply to a Bloomfield’s missive that may be in the files kept secret by LAC:

Altogether, the correspondence echoing Louis Bloomfield’s reaction to allegations making him an associate of Clay Shaw ant the hundreds of documents about Permindex would, if the Bloomfield Archives were in US territory, make this collection falls under the definition of JFK Assassination Records, as stated by the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992, a law that was promulgated at the outset of Oliver Stone’ film. (See http://www.accessreports.com/statutes/JFK.ACT.htm )
The JFK act contains this definition :

"Assassination record" means a record that is related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, that was created or made available for use by, obtained by, or otherwise came into the possession of -- (…)

(F) the Library of Congress;

(G) the National Archives and Records Administration;

(H) any Presidential library; (…)”

According to this definition, because the Bloomfield papers are :
1) related to the JFK assassination ;
and
2) were obtained by the National Archives,
they would be regulated by the JFK act, if only they were in United Stated National Archives, instead that in the Canadian National Archives.

What would then be the effect of such regulation? The JFK Assassination Records Act is clear on the principles that should apply. The act specifies:

“(2) all government records concerning the assassination of President John F. Kennedy should carry a presumption of immediate disclosure, and all records should be eventually disclosed to enable the public to become fully informed about the history surrounding the assassination;”

and
“(7) most of the records related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy are almost 30 years old, and only in the rarest cases is there any legitimate need for continued protection of such records.”

Thus, except if LAC would have submit solid evidence that a specific document should remain protected, every document contained in the Bloomfield Archives would be opened.
The JFK Records Act is perhaps the most modern law that have ever affected the management of a country’s archival material, and, 18 years after adoption of this act in the US, Library and Archives Canada still have to adhere to the fundamental values that were the basis of the JFK Act.

But LAC is far from that.

Far from recognizing that the JFK Assassination records contained in the Bloomfield Archives should carry a presumption of immediate disclosure, LAC is using the pretext of the possible presence of privileged information in those papers to abusively put hundreds of documents behind a veil of secrecy.

Far from considering that, after 30 years, there is only in the rarest cases any legitimate needs to hide documents, Library and Archives Canada arbitrarily applies a 50 years restriction on documents that their donator wanted opened by now.
Far from being trustworthy, far from respecting its donator’s will to have its archives opened 20 years after his death, LAC is hiding behind its walls documents that the US National Archives would have already made public.

Sure, some will argue that LAC is not in the United States and that it doesn’t have to apply US laws or standards. But, and that is far worse, keep in mind that LAC is concealing documents that any other Canadian archives institution, such as an university, a college, a museum or an historical society, would have already disclosed for the only reason that such was the expressed will of its donator. For such institution, it would have been a matter of honour.

Louis M. Bloomfield and the Rothschilds

Even if the information pertaining to Permindex are of the highest interest, the Bloomfield Archives are full of other gems. One of the most precious that I would like to briefly expose concerns Louis Bloomfield’s relation to the Rothschilds.

There are in the Bloomfield papers many documents showing that Louis M. Bloomfield was acting as attorney for the Rothschild family, and particularly for Baron Edmund de Rothschild.

According to the archives, this relation with the Rothschilds was dating back to the Second World War at a time when Bloomfield had for client Oscar Federer, the manager of the Vitkovice Mining and Iron Corporation of Czechoslovakia, an industrial complex held by the Rothschilds. Vitkovice was at the time the most important steel plant of Central Europe. After Lionel Rothschild was arrested by the Nazis, both Goering and Himmler tried to gain control of the company in exchange of Lionel’s liberation. Years after the War, Bloomfield was still an important attorney for the family, particularly for Baron Edmund. For instance in 1959, the Montreal lawyer was responsable for incorporating in Canada a major Rothschild company: Tri Continental Pipe Line Ltd, a corporation that was granted by Israel 49 years exclusivity on the use of a 16-inch pipeline between the Red Sea and Haifa port on the Mediterranean sea. Through the Canadian corporation, Tri Continental Pipe Line was able to save taxes that would have otherwise been paid to the State of Israel.

Interestingly enough, an April 29th, 1960 Bloomfield’s letter show that the Montreal lawyer was not only a business attorney of the Rothschilds, but was also a shareholder of Tri Continental Pipe Line. The letter lists the 15 shareholders of the new corporation, and Bloomfield’s name came second right after Baron Edmund’s.

Since 1968, since the first mention of Louis Mortimer Bloomfield’s name as a Clay Shaw’s associate, bits of information and tons of speculation have been published about him. But to this day, the fact that Bloomfield was related to the Rothschilds was unknown from the public.

This shows how much the information hold by Library and Archives Canada are exceptional. For the first time, the papers in the Louis M Bloomfield Archives give a documented description of this outstanding man and of the complex secret universe he was functioning in.

Was Bloomfield really the head of Permindex?

The documents that Louis Bloomfield donated to the National Archives are of incomparable value not only because of their international historical quality, but also for the reason that, on a national and a personal perspective, they have the potential to repair part of the damage done by decade of speculation to the reputation of Louis M. Bloomfield, a Canadian that played an important unknown role in world's affairs.

As I will expose in more details in some future posts, documents in the Bloomfield Archives clearly show that, far from being the supreme head of Permindex, Louis M. Bloomfield exchanged harsh correspondences with Freemason Georges Mantello, the “genius” behind Permindex, at times when Georges and his son Enrico Mantello weren’t acting in the best interest of Bloomfield’s clients.

For instance, in the following letter to Georges Mantello, the Freemason “genius” behind Permindex, Louis Bloomfield confronts him directly by asking : “Have you no regards or respect for my feelings in the matter, or when you make promise to me, do they mean nothing?” Bloomfield also specified: “I am finished unless you make a deal now with the Banca del Lavoro as you have promised me they will do.”

Reading this letter brings one to doubt about the easy conclusion adopted by many writers and describing Louis M. Bloomfield as engineer of the JFK assassination, that mainly based on the fact that he held the majority of Permindex stocks. Together, the numerous 1960’s letters show that, at that time, those stocks were sold by Georges Mantello as participation in a real estate scheme and that stockholders, far from being bosses of Permindex, may as well have been its victims.

The Bloomfield Archives documents contemporaneous to the JFK assassination should be able to substantiate the true story behind Permindex. According to Library and Archives Canada’s decision, those documents will only be released when they will reach 50 years of age, even if Louis Bloomfield donate them on condition to make them public 20 years after his death, that occurred in 1984. LAC’s disregard for its donator’s will makes one wonder if Mr Bloomfield wouldn’t write the exacts same words to the Chief Archivist as those he wrote Mantello: “Have you no regards or respect for my feelings in the matter, or when you make promise to me, do they mean nothing?”

If LAC doesn’t change its mind, it is not before 2014 that the documents concerning Permindex’s activities at the time of the JFK assassination should be available. And other important documents may remain secret up to 2028. And remember, one of the most interesting documents of the fonds is a 1979 letter that Bloomfield wrote to a Washington lawyer in order to complain about being unjustly identify as a CIA agent. In this letter, Bloomfield expressed his belief that he may have been confused with a “Major L. Blumenfield who I was informed was an Attaché to the American Embassy in Rome.” If LAC doesn’t review its position, we won’t have access before 2028 to the other documents that may complete this piece of information.
By staying on its position, LAC is hiding the truth on one of the most important Canadian international lawyer of the Twentieth Century, a man who played many unknown roles in international politics. For instance, documents in the Bloomfield Archives shows that in 1966, years before Kissinger and Nixon, Bloomfield was a forerunner of open trade with Communist China, to the point of putting all his prestige behind this cause and his picture on some very peculiar flyers such as this one:

Other documents reveal that Bloomfield met Georges Bush Sr in China while the future US president was Chief of the United States Liaison Office in Peking between September 1974 and December 1975, at a time when the U.S. hadn’t yet established diplomatic relations with Red China. In January 1976, one month after its return from China, Bush was promoted Director of Central Intelligence. All the Bloomfield correspondence from those years will be kept secret until they reach 50 years of age.

It is truly a shame that a governmental institution like LAC, without any true obligation, take the initiative to hide --from the international public-- historical documents that their donator wanted to make public. LAC’s pretext concerning the protection of lawyer-client privilege and its abusive use of it to hide whole group of hundreds of documents without proper examination, seems to lack sincerity and consideration for both donator Bloomfield and the public.

The Permindex’s Genius :
a 33rd degree Freemason

The Bloomfield Archives are not only shedding new light on Louis Bloomfield activities during the Second World War, they are containing unpublished information on his relation to many post-war historical events. After all that was wrote on Louis M. Bloomfield and Permindex, and their possible link to the JFK assassination, the archives, for the first time in 40 years, bring solid, valid new information on Bloomfield’s activities, not only in relation to Permindex but also to various other historical subjects, such as the Rothschild family and opening of relations with Communist China.

For everybody interested in the JFK assassination, the information concerning Permindex are the more interesting of all. As you may know, Permindex (a contraction for Permanent Industrial Exhibition) was a subsidiary of the Centro Mondiale Commerciale (CMC), a company that had on his board of directors Louis Bloomfield and none other then Clay Shaw, the New Orleans businessman put on trial by Attorney Jim Garrison for conspiracy against President John F. Kennedy. This indictment was the subject of Oliver Stone’s film JFK.

Since 1968, Louis Bloomfield’s relation with Clay Shaw, through Permindex and CMC, was reported first in newspapers, then in books and now on the Internet. More then anything else, the fact that those Italian companies were considered as fronts for the CIA bring many to identify Bloomfield as Shaw’s co-conspirator. Furthermore, since Bloomfield was registered as Permindex’s main shareholder many saw him as the head of this shadowy corporation and, therefore, as the chief engineer of the JFK assassination.

A Freemason Genius

Whatever was Permindex connection with the JFK assassination in 1963, Bloomfield’s documents dating from years 1959 and 1960 show that, at their beginning, CMC and Permindex were trying to capitalize from the real estate boom provoked by the 1960 Olympics held in Rome.

Those documents expose that, at that time, Louis Bloomfield was acting more as private banker than as lawyer and was trying to interest investors in the Permindex real estate speculation. But while he was doing that from Canada, the real head of the company wasn’t Bloomfield, but a man with connections to the Savoy Italian Royal family, that after World War II was expelled from Italy.

Correspondences exchanged between Bloomfield and various potential investors show that Permindex’s Italian director, George Mantello, was the real head of the corporation, or to quote a Bloomfield’s letters from March 24, 1960: “the guiding genius in this whole operation”.

An historic figure, Mantello, A.K.A. George Mandel, was a Romanian Jew who during World War II worked for the Salvadorian consulate in Geneva and opposed Nazi deportation of Jews by furnishing them false immigration papers. Mantello is also credited for having made public, in1944, the Auschwitz Protocol, the first reliable report on the operation of the concentration camp.

Mantello’s role in Permindex was known since the Sixties. But what was unknown before now is his connection to Italian Freemasonry. This revelation is found in the same March 24, 1960 letter where Louis Bloomfield wrote that George Mantello was a Freemason of the 33rd degree, the highest rank of this secret society.

Bloomfield, in order to reassure an investor on the profitability of the Permindex real estate deal, explained why Mantello was able to buy some land from the exiled Savoy Italian Royal Family for a price that was “dirt cheap”. As Bloomfield explained: “(this) price was obtained through a curiously personal and exceptional situation between Mantello and the Royal Family, (inter alia, (a) he financed the Queen Mother in Switzerland during their entire stay when they were completely penniless; (b) he organized and financed the expedition which rescued Count Calvi, the King’s brother-in-law, just prior to his scheduled execution; and (c) he is a 33rd Degree Mason with the closest connections in the highest aristocratic circles.”

What is the meaning of such a connexion between Permindex, a suspected CIA front, and Freemasonry is still a matter of discussion. Some, who consider Masons as a social club will see nothing of interest in this fact. Others who know that CIA is full of members of Skull & Bones, a secret society of Masonic type, will find this revelation most significant. And the few that believe that President Abraham Lincoln assassination was the result of a conspiracy involving Confederate Albert Pike, a 33rd degree Freemason related to the Italian masonry, will be amazed to see that history seems to repeat itself.

Whatever is our evaluation of this revelation, the fact is that, for the first time in more then 40 years, the Bloomfield Archives reveal a documented connection between Permindex and Italian Freemasonry, and not an insignificant one since what we do learn from this document is that the “genius” behind Permindex was a Freemason of the highest possible rank.

The March 24, 1960 letter containing this exclusive revelation is enclosed in one of two bonded books containing copy of Louis Bloomfield 1960 outgoing correspondence. This letter and many others detailed how the Permindex real estate deal was built in a complex fashion involving other corporations such as CMC, and Marina Reale, a Panama front.

On pretext that some individual letters in those books may possibly contain privileged lawyer-client information, Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is holding from the public the entire letters books dating from year 1961 and more. By this abusive procedure, LAC is keeping secret hundreds of Bloomfield letters related to Permindex and dated from the crucial years 1961 to 1964.

It is quite possible that this LAC course of action was due to some low level decisions from civil servants ignorant of the true historical significance of the Bloomfield Archives. I do hope that LAC’s direction now understand the importance of those documents and will take the decision to make them available. By doing so LAC will not only respect the right of the public to access this historical information, but also the will of its donator, Louis M. Bloomfield, that LAC is knowingly disrespecting.

Louis Bloomfield: A very uncommon WWII soldier

Even if Montreal lawyer Louis Mortimer Bloomfield claimed in 1979 to have been confused with a "Major Blumenfield" of the CIA, and that he had no connection at all with intelligence, documents in the Bloomfield archives corroborate that his official biography, giving him as a simple major in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps (RCASC), at the time of the Second World War, is hiding intelligence activities.

According to some sources, Louis Mortimer Bloomfield was an Office of Strategic Services (OSS) agent during WWII. Even if there is no solid evidence to this fact in the Canadian National archives, all the wartime letters and documents available shows that during this period, Bloomfield wasn’t a conventional RCASC Canadian Army Major.

First, while the RCASC was an army corps engaged on most of the battle fronts, particularly at Dieppe, in Hong Kong and in Sicily (see http://rcasc.org/rcasc_hist_breif.html for more details), lawyer Bloomfield, during all the conflict, was active in his Montreal law office, representing international clients trying to escape from the Nazis to relocate in America. Those included customers such as King Carol from Romania, Oscar Federer, manager of a Czechoslovakian iron plant controlled by the Rothschild, and Paul-Louis Weiller, a French aviation pioneer and industrialist fleeing France. That wasn’t exactly the common assignments of a RCASC Major or of any Canadian Army officer.

The archives contain two interesting documents casting doubt on Bloomfield’s official biography. The first one, is an August 20, 1943 introduction letter written in Spanish by the General Consul of Mexico in Montreal and requesting from “All Civilian and Military Authorities of the Mexico Republic” their attention and help toward Senior Bloomfield.

This letter clearly proves that Major Bloomfield, in addition to doing business from his Montreal office, was also working in Mexico during WWII, a country that wasn’t a usual destination for our Canadian militaries during the war. One year before this letter, on August 19, 1942, more then nine hundreds Canadians soldiers lost their lives on the beaches of Dieppe. Then, one year later, on June 6, 1944, hundreds of Canadian militaries were again sacrificed on Normandy’s beaches. But Canadian militaries on Mexico beaches, that’s really something unheard of.

Another document show that Major Bloomfield wasn’t a usual soldier and that his rank in the army was most likely a complaisance title and covertures. This paper is a letter dated June 13, 1961, in which the Canadian Department of National Defence informs Louis Bloomfield of his retirement date that occurred in August 1946, fifteen years before.

It is doubtful that any conventional army officer wouldn’t know his retirement date from military career. For some soldiers, the date of such an important life change is more memorable then their wedding's date. Furthermore, that an attorney didn’t knew the date when he was personally relieved of such important legal obligations as those of a soldier toward his country, is also incredible. In all likelihood, Bloomfield had no relation with the regular army, and without commiting desertion, just walk out of it. Fifteen years later, when he wanted to file his biography in Who's Who, he had to check with the Defence what was his official retirement date.

Since Bloomfield’s name was never mentioned in any books about the Office of Strategic Services and neither found in any OSS’ archives, it is doubtful that he was an intelligence “agent”. But obviously, he was acting as an attorney for the OSS and was granted his complimentary rank of Major by the Canadian Department of National Defence in order to fulfill his assignments that required knowledge of top secret files.

For intance, in 1979, Bloomfield wrote to the National Archives a letter praising the historical importance of his archives. In one paragraph, he revealed his knowledge of secret details of a bombing operation against a military target. He wrote: "There are also files dealing with Mr. Oscar Federer who was the Managing Director of the Witkowitze Steel Mill of Czechoslovakia (detailed information was furnished to the Allied Governments so that bombers could put the plant out of commission)".

This letter show that Mr Bloomfield had knowledge of secret operations that he could only have because he was in the intelligence circles.

Mr Bloomfield finished this letter by writing: "I have other documents of great historical significance".
It is truly a shame that Library and Archives Canada opposes the divulgation of such documents after their donator clearly expressed his will to see them public twenty years after his death, a period that is expired since five years. In view of the historical nature of the Bloomfield Archives, we have to wonder if LAC’s argument about the protection of lawyer-client privilege is sincere or is not only a false pretext.

The Bloomfield Archives : Secret gold mine of historical information

Since four years, I have remained silent on this Blog. This absence was partly due to the exigencies of my professional occupations but mainly to the fact that I considered appropriate to refrain from publishing anything while I was taking legal action against Library and Archives Canada (LAC) to have access to the archives of the late Montreal attorney Louis Mortimer Bloomfield. At the time I filed a first review against LAC, I didn’t know that I’ll have to file a total of five different procedures and that this period of legal battle will be five years long.

Today, I consider that this silence can be broken not only for the reason that an important stage in those procedures is completed but also because they have gave results that I’m eager to share.

Claiming the gold mine: Five years of legal battle
I shall expose in more details in future posts the legal actions that took place around the Louis Bloomfield Archives. Some of you may be aware of the result of the first procedure I have introduced in Canada Federal Court in 2005. In this judicial review, Judge Simon Noël ruled that Louis M. Bloomfield clearly expressed his will to have his archives opened 20 years after his death and that this condition should be respected. Consequently, Justice Noël declared invalid LAC’s decision to extend for 25 years the restriction on those documents and ordered the National Archives to make a new decision taking in account the reason of his judgment. Following Justice Noël decision, the National Archivist, Ian E. Wilson, didn’t hurry at all to make his new decision. After six months of waiting, I registered a complaint for contempt of court against Mr Wilson and two LAC directors. This new procedure motivated him to move on and in July 2007 he finally announced his decision in which he applied a five years extension on the original restriction finishing in 2004.

This decision had the effect to open most of the archives in July 2009, with an important exception for files that may contain information protected by lawyer-client privilege. Those documents were to be closed for 50 years from the last date in the file where they were located. On this arbitrary procedure, LAC was keeping behind closed doors nearly 40% of the collection and particularly those pertaining to the Sixties, and for durations that may finish only in 2028.

Again, I did contest in Federal Court this decision and, after a first judge declared LAC’s new decision correct, I filed an appeal on this judgement before the Canadian Federal Court of Appeal. The audition on this case has been held in Montreal on March 22, 2010, and, a week later, on March 29, the three judges published their decision rejecting this appeal on some petty peculiar argument that I may expose in a future post.

However, even if I didn’t win this last appeal, all those legal procedures had three interesting results:
1) 60% of the Bloomfield archives were effectively released in July 2009;
2) An additional 15% of the Bloomfield papers, consisting of documents dating from year 1960, were opened on January 2010;
and
3) The remaining of the documents should be released by parts, in January of every year between 2011 and 2028.

Digging the gold mine

As you can guess, in July 2009 and January 2010, each time some documents were released, I went to Ottawa to consult them. If I had to resume in a single word my impression of what I saw in the reading room of LAC, I would say that those documents are astonishing!

The Bloomfield Archives are really a gold mine of historical information on many international affairs dating from World War II to the 1970’s. But a gold mine isn’t the same as a hidden treasure full of gold bullions. The gold in the Bloomfield Archives have to be extracted out of the dirt and bring out in pieces of ore. After such extraction and accumulation, this ore still have to be refined with the help of other historical material. In other words, the archives are not an Eldorado in which one will find stamped gold coins or documents such as a written contract for JFK assassination. But still, there are in those archives pieces of hard documented information that may complete what was known otherwise. More precisely, the Bloomfield Archives for the first time in 40 years, bring solid, valid new information on Louis M. Bloomfield’s activities particularly in relation with Permindex, the Italian firm that was described as a CIA front used to finance JFK assassination.

Permindex and the Ilalian Connection to the JFK assassinationBecause the main media didn’t report it, very few peoples are aware of the last important information available on the JFK assassination, and even less are conscious of how this information should renew the interest in Permindex.

In 2007, Saint John Hunt, the son of notorious CIA agent E. Howard Hunt, made public a tape of his father deathbed confession.

According to Hunt, the JFK assassination was the product of CIA’s people working on the instigation of Vice-President Lyndon B. Johnson. The principal man in charge of what was called “the Big Event” was William Harvey a CIA agent whom President Kennedy has expelled to Rome CIA office after he secretly took unauthorized dangerous initiatives during the Cuban missiles crisis. As Hunt also revealed, Harvey recruited in Europe Corsican shooters. (More info available at: http://www.saintjohnhunt.com/background.html )

Thus, if we give credence to Hunt’s confession, the JFK assassination would have been planned from Rome. Since nearly 40 years, writers and researchers that have studied the Jim Garrison investigation of New Orleans businessman Clay Shaw, suspected exactly the same thing. More precisely, they alleged that Permindex and CMC, two Italians shadowy corporations to which Clay Shaw was related, were used to finance the Dallas crime.

Since 1968, after some researchers found out that Canadian Lawyer Louis M. Bloomfield was acting as Permindex’s majority shareholder for unknown third parties, the rumours’ mill started to grind to the point where Mr Bloomfield was not only associated to Permindex and Clay Shaw but was also described as a CIA agent that may have been the engineer of the JFK assassination.
Mr Bloomfield never made any public comments on those charges and his version of the whole affair never reached the press. In fact, the first echoes of his reaction to those charges were given in 2007 by his nephew Harold Bloomfield to Montreal Gazette journalist Elizabeth Thompson, at the outset of the first legal procedure in this case. "There was this amazing world of conspiracy theories that somehow landed on my poor late uncle who was completely ... horrified that anyone would ever (suspect that), after an amazing, long, highly prestigious, highly proper, fine career as a lawyer in Canada and the world." Incidentally, one of the most interesting documents of the Bloomfield Archives is a 1979 letter that Louis Bloomfield wrote to a Washington lawyer in order to complain about being unjustly identify as a CIA agent. In this letter, Bloomfield expressed his belief that he may have been confused with a “Major L. Blumenfield who I was informed was an Attaché to the American Embassy in Rome in 1966 or 1967.” And he further wrote: “I understand that he probably was a CIA man attached to the Embassy in Rome.”

How was Bloomfield informed of the existence of this CIA man? Did Bloomfield receive any answer to this letter? Nobody knows because many of the documents dating from 1978 and 1979 are still kept secret by Library and Archives Canada. And if LAC doesn’t review its position, we won’t have access before 2028 to the other documents that may complete this piece of information.

As it will be exposed in the second part of this expose, many letters in the Bloomfield Archives show that, far from being the head of Permindex, Montreal lawyer Louis Mortimer Bloomfield had sometime very harsh words to address to George Mantello, Permindex’s acting director in Rome, a man that Bloomfield described as a Freemason of the 33rd degree. Those letters were found among the 1960 documents that were released by LAC in January 2010, and, again, the Canadian National Archives are holding secrets the letters of the followings years that may give a better knowledge of the true relation between Louis M. Bloomfield and Permindex. Those documents have the potential to clear Mr Bloomfield’s reputation and, in all likelihood, he donated them to the National Archives in the hope to shed some light on his life.

At least, according to Elizabeth Thompson’s article cited above: “Harry Bloomfield said he has no doubt his uncle's papers would be of interest to scholars. "People lead interesting, fascinating, complicated lives. My uncle was delighted and honoured to leave his papers to the Canadian archives," he said”.

Unfortunately Library and Archives Canada, by betraying their donator’s will to make public his archives 20 years after his death, is not only depriving Louis Bloomfield to see posthumously his reputation redressed, but is hiding from the international public the complete truth about one of the major event of the Twentieth Century: the JFK assassination.

It is truly a shame that a governmental institution like LAC, without any true obligation, take the initiative to hide --from the international public-- historical documents that their donator wanted to make public. LAC’s argument concerning the protection of lawyer-client privilege and its abusive use of this unsubstantiated pretext to hide whole group of hundreds of documents without proper examination, seems to lack sincerity and consideration for both donator Bloomfield and the public. One has to wonder if LAC is not acting like it does on pressure of Bloomfield’s widow or of more important pressure groups.

Doing that, LAC is hiding the truth on one of the most important Canadian international lawyer of the Twentieth Century, a man who played many unknown roles in international politic.

THE BLOOMFIELD ARCHIVES: IS LIBRARY AND ARCHIVES CANADA SINCERE?

It is hard to understand why Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is still refusing to open the Bloomfield archives two years after the end of the 20 years access restriction asked by its creator, Louis Mortimer Bloomfield. To justify a supplementary restriction imposed to this collection. LAC invokes its intention to respect the donator’s will. But this explanation doesn’t resist serious scrutiny, to the point where we may ask ourselves if we are just in presence of a case of poor management or if LAC is not maliciously hiding to the public archives that even its donator wanted to be released.

When an institution receives the private archives of a citizen, the first question this establishment has to resolve is to determine when those papers could be open to public.

In the event where the collection is given by its creator’s succession, the families that transmitted this collection usually have full responsibility and power to impose a timeline of its opening and, in some case, to review it.

But, naturally, when the private archives are given by its creator himself during his lifetime, the institution should respect the expressed will of the donator. We may even say that, in this situation, the institution first responsibility is to make absolutely sure that it will enforce the expressed will of the donator, even if, decades later, his succession disagrees with this original intention. In such a case, we might even consider the high probability that the donator foresaw his entourage's hesitation, and that he consciously transferred his papers to a neutral institution which he trusted to respect his will. That an establishment can fail to fulfill such will is then a grave betrayal of this donator.

Louis Mortimer Bloomfield, while he was alive, did trust the Public Archives of Canada (PAC) and versed to it a collection of papers that the PAC qualified of great national value. At the time of this donation, Louis M. Bloomfield was a prominent lawyer and president of the International Law Association. At the time of this donation, PAC had for legal mission to collect documents of national importance and to guarantee their diffusion. It can’t be reasonably argued that this outstanding lawyer didn’t know what he was doing or the consequences of his donation to an institution that had for name PUBLIC Archives of Canada. The short letter that Bloomfield addressed to the archivist on Feb. 24, 1978, was quite clear and straightforward.

On the matter of restriction, its simply reads:
“The documents which you are taking from me to form a Bloomfield section of the archives are to be held for a period of twenty (20) years after my death before any of this material is made public.”

In the second paragraph, Bloomfield designated his wife as “literary exetrix” (sic) and allow her (and three others persons) to have access to his collection, without even suggesting that she may had any authority to restrict them for longer than 20 years.

If those instructions weren’t clear enough, a year and a half later, on July 30, 1979, Louis M. Bloomfield addressed another letter to the Public Archives in which he again stated the conditions of the documents transfer.

Again, there is no interpretation to be done of Bloomfield’s will. He stated clearly:
“There will be no conditions attached to the deposit other than the original conditions that these documents be made available to the Public only twenty years after my death.”
In the following phrase he just repeated his authorization for his wife, and three named peoples, to access his collection, without any reference of entitling anybody to change the terms of his will after his death.

With his will clearly expressed in two different letters, Mr. Bloomfield was surely trusting the Public Archives to know how to act in the event of his decease.

Louis Mortimer Bloomfield death occurred on July 19, 1984. Following this event, the Public Archives first acted in full respect of this donator’s will. They contacted his widow, by letter dated November, 7. (Regardless of many request to receive copy of all papers pertaining to the Bloomfield-PAC agreement, LAC never produced this letter.) Eventually, Mrs Bloomfield answered this letter on November 19, 1984 and acknowledged her husband’s will.

That letter is merely an acknowledgment of the unique condition set earlier by Louis Bloomfield, that is a confirmation of the 20 years embargo on his papers. In that letter, there is no specific clause regarding prolongation of this 20 years restriction. The phrase "Of course we will review this matter at a future date" can even be seen as an opening to lower this restriction before its end. Citing this letter as reference, PAC prepared a Restricted Papers Form in which the restriction period was stated as being of 20 years starting on July 19, 1984.

The Restricted Papers Form didn’t say a word about any possible revision or prolongation of the restriction. Seeing that everything was taken care of as he specifically asked for, the spirit of Louis Bloomfield was ready to rest in peace, confident that his archives will be opened 20 years later in 2004.

Surely, Louis M. Bloomfield would be disappointed to see that, 22 years later, the Public Archives of Canada didn’t respected his expressed will.
Surely, Louis M. Bloomfield would be disappointed to learn that Library and Archives Canada (LAC), the federal body that replaced PAC, not only forgot but actively refused to make public his archives, to the point of resisting this opening in Federal Court ?
Surely, Louis M. Bloomfield, the prominent lawyer, would be disappointed to see that LAC archivists and lawyers based their refusal on the fact that they see in Mrs. Bloomfield’s letter an agreement to let her review the duration of the restriction AFTER its termination and AGAINST her husband’s will.
Surely, Louis M. Bloomfield would be disappointed to see that, instead of being opened 20 years after his death, his valuable archives will remain secret 25 years after her widows’ death. Since Mrs. Bloomfield is still alive in 2006, that means they will stay closed at least up to year 2031; that is at least 47 years after her husband’s decease.

At a first level, we can deduct morale from this story: If you are alive and have valuable archives, don’t trust Library and Archives Canada, because, like Louis M. Bloomfield, you’ll surely be disappointed.

On a second level we are justified to ask ourselves an imperative question: Is LAC just misguided in its appreciation of its donator’s intentions? Or is LAC guided by some covert intentions?

If Louis Bloomfield's intentions of having his collection opened to the public is not clear enough by now, in the next post, we will see a letter he sent to the Public Archives in which he stressed the great historical value of his papers. This will be a good reading both because it shows that Bloomfield wanted his archives to be shared, but also because he is giving us a few hints on their content.

OSWALD IN MONTREAL: MORE DOCUMENTS

Looking back in my files, I have found three more documents that were kept away from the public and that I had copied at the National Archives in College Park, Maryland.

The two first reports related to an inquiry made by the FBI on words that a Windsor attorney, Roger Desrosiers, circulated about the presence of Oswald in Montreal.

They basicly stated that:
At 2:05 P.M., November 26, 1963, Clerk ROBERT HAGER received a telephone call from Attorney RICHARD MAC RAE, 1012 (…) BuildIng, telephone Wo. ,1—9250, Detroit, Michigan.

MAC RAE advised that he had recently been in conversation with attorney ROGER DES ROSIERS, Guardian Trust Building, Windsor, Ontario, telephone CL. 3—1611, who advised that he had received information indicating that LEE H. OSWALD had been seen in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, at the time the FLQ terrorists were placing bombs in that city.

At 2:25 November 26, 1963, SA MELVILLE H. SHANNON telephonically contacted ROGER DES ROSIERS and was advised by him that above information was not accurate. DES ROSIERS stated that he had heard the rumor from unconfirmed sources that LEE H, OSWALD had at some unspecified time been at Montreal, Quebec, engaged in a “Ban-the-Bomb” protest . He advised that he could not recall his original source and had no further information in his possession regarding OSWALD or captioned matter.

Unfortunately the FBI didn't make a good job at finding the sources for this rumor and were satisfied that Desrosiers "could not recall the original source", something a little hard to swallow. Most probably- the FBI didn't want the source to be known.

Fortunately, the day after this report, on November 27, 1963, a newspaper article triggered more curiosity from many US officials. As we can see in the next document, even if the article was quicly ruled as unfounded, it was taken seriously by high ranking US officials. Look for yourself at the following telegram sent to the Departement of State by the United States Consul General in Canada.

The text of this airgram is quite interesting:

On November 27, 1963 the final edition of The Montreal Star carried a story, subsequently declared unfounded, that Lee Harvey Oswald had paraded in the ban the bomb demonstrations last summer and suggested that he may have taken part in demonstrations in front of the United States Consulate at the time of the United States quarantine of Cuba. The story was ascribed to a police officer who declined to be identified. However, there may be something to the story.

We have been informed by the Senior U.S. Customs Representative - that his office has been contacted by several persons who have advised that Oswald was seen in Montreal last summer distributing pamphlets entitled Fair Play for Cuba at St. Jacques and McGill Streets. The Senior Customs Representative informs us that Mr. Jean Paul Tremblay, Investigator, Customs and Excise, Montreal informed. him on November 27, 196) that he received one of the above-mentioned pamphlets from a man on St. Jacques Street, Montreal, believed to be in August 1963, and he is positive that this person was Oswald. Mr. Tremblay also stated that Oswald was accompanied at the time by a short, homely, heavy woman who took unusually long steps when walking and two men about Oswald’s age and weight. One of these two men is described as a little taller than Oswald and has a freckled face. Mr. Tremblay also stated that he believes he could identify the three persons that accompanied Oswald and that the reason for paying special attention to these persons was because he was working on cases involving Cuba at the time. Mr. Tremblay has asked that he be protected as a source. The Senior Customs Representative today, has reported this information to Secret Service authorities in Washington. Jerome T. Gaspard, United States Consul General

From the Consul text, it appears that there would be two differents sources to the story: the police officer that was at the origin of the Montreal Star article and Jean-Paul Tremblay the Canadian Customs investigator. It is possible that Tremblay was referred by the Montreal Star as a police officer and was the source of the newspaper story, but it seems more likely that there was more than one official agent that remembered having seen Oswald in Montreal during a pro-Cuba manifestation.

It is interesting to note that the American Consul in Canada expressed the opinion that "However, there may be something to the story." We already saw that the Jean-Paul Tremblay's report was took seriously enough by Lawrence Fleishman and Aurelien Chassé, of the US Treasury department and that both the FBI and the RCMP meet and investigate the case. Now this last document shows us that even the United States Consul General was under the impression that "there may be something to the story".

Since at that time peoples from Montreal -high placed in US government offices- gave credence to those reports, maybe researchers should open their mind to the possibility that Lee Harvey Oswald came up north in the Spring of 1963.

WHY THE BLOOMFIELD ARCHIVES SHOULD BE OPENED TO PUBLIC

In 1968, Louis Mortimer Bloomfield, a Montreal prominent lawyer, was named as an associate of Clay Shaw, the New Orleans businessman indicted of conspiracy in the JFK assassination by District Attorney Jim Garrison. According to Italian newspapers articles, Bloomfield would have been the major shareholder of Permindex, a shadowy corporation to which Clay Shaw was related.

Since both Clay Shaw and Bloomfield were intelligence veterans of World War II, and since Permindex was suspected of funneling money for intelligence operations, including assassination attempts on General De Gaulle, Bloomfield eventually became the victim of his supposed association with Shaw, to the point where he was perceived by some as the architect of the assassination plot against President John F. Kennedy.

First of all, it must be stressed that the allegations against Louis Mortimer Bloomfield, even his hypothetical relation with Clay Shaw, never were documented. The more explicit accusations against him (in Torbitt's Nomenclature of an Assassination Cabal) was even coming from an unpublished manuscript written under pseudonym and giving for source two anonymous US federal agents. Most of the other speculations about Bloomfield took roots in this unsubstantiated and uncorroborated text, and never bring any solid evidence against Bloomfield.

Why was the rumor mill so hard with Bloomfield? Because, regardless of any JFK assassination connection, he was a character related to the world of espionage during World War II, and that, well after WWII, he still played some important historical part in international politics, that up to the 1980's. In many aspects, Louis Mortimer Bloomfield was comparable to William Stephenson, the man called Intrepid, except that his story was never made public.

Before its death, Bloomfield donated his personal papers to Canada National Archives, under condition that they are made public twenty years after his death. However, nearly two years after the end of this delay, Library and Archives Canada (LAC) refuses to make available the Bloomfield documents, even after legal procedures were taken on this matter in Federal Court.

Even -and furthermore- if Bloomfield have nothing to do with the JFK assassination, it is more than time that his archives become opened to the public and that his true story finally been told.

There is one overwhelming argument in favor of this: that his personal archives been open to the public -twenty years after his death- was the clear expressed will of this eminent attorney. Whatever was Bloomfield intention in giving his archives and in asking that they become open to the public, he deserves this will to be respected, just as much as the public deserves to know the truth about him.

Will the content of his archives clear him of any connection with the JFK assassination? Or will this content show what really happened in Dallas? We don’t know but Louis Mortimer Bloomfield knew and asked for it to be revealed.

This two dimensions conviction is the reason I took action in court to get those papers released, and I convey everyone to support their opening.

LOUIS MORTIMER BLOOMFIELD ARCHIVES : THE ADMINISTRATIVE BACKGROUND

In order for readers to understand the administrative background of the Louis Mortimer Bloomfield archives, held secret by Library and Archives Canada (LAC, the Canadian National Archives), here are copies of the documents pertaining to the management of this collection. I include a few basics comment on my attempt to access the archives.

First of all, readers should know that the Louis Mortimer Bloomfield collection was transferred to Public Archives Canada (PAC) in 1978-1979 by Bloomfield himself, under the Cultural Property Program. This program entitled him to special tax deductions if he irrevocably alienated his archives to a designed cultural institution. There was no specific contract between Bloomfield and PAC except letters exchanged between the parties and Bloomfield received two tax certificates. In one letter (that I will post later on this site), Bloomfield stated that there wasn't any other condition to the transfer except that the documents been opened to the public only 20 years after his death. Bloomfield died on July, 19, 1984.

Following his death and according to this condition, PAC thus determined that the restriction on Bloomfield's paper should be of 20 years starting on July, 19, 1984. This is the 1986 restriction form that PAC which was available in 1996 in the database of the Canadian National Archives.

According to this restriction the Bloomfield collection should have been opened in July 2004.

In 2002, National Archives of Canada (NAC), PAC’s latest appellation, put a new version of this restriction form online on its website:

Even if the wording of this form didn't make reference to July, 19, 1984, still, just two years before 2004, the National Archives were confirming that the collection should be open in 2004. (Note: As I learned later, according to internal procedures, documents restricted until a specific year should have been opened on January 1st of that year.)

In August 2004, after the 20 years period stated in the first restriction file, I contacted Library and Archives Canada (LAC), successor to NAC, in order to access the Bloomfield collection. My request was put on hold for a month, and then on September 3, I received a short answer saying only that the collection was “still restricted”. Since the wording of the last restriction form could mean that the National Archives may restrict the documents for the whole year 2004, I decided not to contest this answer and to wait a few more months until January 2005. At this moment, I contacted again LAC and asked access to the documents. The answer I received was astonishing: the collection was now restricted for ten more years. When did that restriction occured? On September 8, 2004, right after I asked access to the collection.

Here is the new access restriction form that was prepared at this date:

Note that in this form, the "Authority for restriction" is referring to a letter dated August 31, 2004, that is a correspondance that was received after my August request.
Naturally, I inquired about the reasons of this decision and asked the Librarian and Archivist of Canada to reverse it. In order to debate the matter, I eventually file a Freedom of Information request to obtain copy of the original agreement between Louis M. Bloomfield and the Public Archives. This request was handled by a section of LAC called Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP). On April 18, 2005, ATIP send me a few pages including copy of the letters from Bloomfield.

At first, I was quite please to see in those letters that Bloomfield asked that his archives been released 20 years after his death. On this ground, for a very short moment, I believed that I may convince LAC to respect Mr Bloomfield's will. But, I quickly lost this optimism. Doing a routinely check of the Bloomfield collection statute on LAC's website, I had the surprise to find that a new restriction form as just been released 2 days after ATIP answered me.

As you can see, the new form was describing an access restriction ending only 25 years after the death of Mrs. Justine Stern (Bloomfield) Cartier, Bloomfield's widow. That is a restriction 120% longer than the original one asked by the donator.

As I learned later, by obtaining, through FOI, 385 pages of documents pertaining to the treatment of my demand, this new 25 years restriction was a direct result of my first Freedom of Information request.

According to the archivists I did consult on the matter, such a behavior is highly irregular from any archives institution. But nevertheless, that is the course of actions Library and Archives Canada elected to take with regards to the Louis Mortimer Bloomfield archives.

OSWALD IN MONTREAL: A CONCLUSION

Is there any reality behind Jean-Paul Tremblay’s report? Why was the FBI report on Oswald’s apparition in Montreal suppressed for so many years?

At first view, when we know how much effort the Warren Commission and the FBI have investED to study Oswald every moves, we would think that the answer to Tremblay’s report would be: “We know as a fact that Oswald wasn’t in Montreal at this date, we had reports placing him in New Orleans.” But, even if the FBI tried to discredit Tremblay’s report with affirmation that Oswald, in June 1963, was working in N.O., at William Reily Coffee Co., the problem that still persist is that: 1) the FBI made, voluntarily or not, a poor job at determining the time of the Oswald in Montreal sighting; and 2) the FBI information about Oswald’s activity at the most probable time for his Montreal presence is quite weak. If we pay attention to those 2 points, we may find that there is indeed a possibility that Oswald’s known whereabouts doesn’t rule out the possibility that he might have traveled to Montreal in spring 1963.

Let see a few excerpts from the FBI report:
“(…) Jean Paul Tremblay, Investigator, Customs and Excise, Montreal said on November 27, 1963, that he, Tremblay, had received one of the above—mentioned pamphlets from a man St. Jacques Street in Montreal. He said he believed this incident occurred in August, 1963, and he, Tremblay, is positive this individual was LEE OSWALD. According to Mr. Chasse, Tremblay said OSWALD at the time was accompanied by a short, homely, heavy woman who took unusually long steps when walking and by two men about the same age and weight as OWALD.”

“Photographs of persons participating in the Quebec-Washington-Guantanamo Walk for Peace in Montreal on June 7 and 8, 1963, were shown to Mr. Tremblay and he positively identified two of them as having been engaged in the distribution of leaflets on the day in question. One of the persons he positively identified was the woman referred to by Chasse in his letter to the Secret Service. The other person identified by Tremblay was believed by the agency making the above inquiry to be a Mr. Fred Moore of San Antonio, Texas.”

In the second excerpt there is a clever deception (or a embarrassing mistake) that you can detect only if you look at the photographs and if you have more background information on the QWG walk. The photos were not taken in Montreal, but in some countryside at an unspecified location. They may show persons that have participated at some events in Montreal, but the pictures were not taken during those events. The reality is that the pictures in the countryside were taken on June 7 and 8 but the QWG leaved town days earlier, around May 26. So inferring that Oswald was seen at the date the picture where shot is grossly deceptive.

So, even if Tremblay guessed he saw Oswald in August 1963, and even if the FBI placed this sighting in June, according to the chronology of the Québec-Washington-Guantanamo Peace Walk the only time when Tremblay could have seen Oswald leafleting with Fred Moore or Erika Enzer (the lady that Tremblay identified on picture) would be prior to the walk, thus before May 26, 1963.

The interesting thing is that this is one of the rare periods where Oswald whereabouts are poorly accounted for. In May, Oswald had left Dallas for New Orleans and had supposedly start to work for William B. Reily Coffee Co on May 15. But there is not a lot of witnesses and reports to corroborate Oswald was in New Orleans all of the time in May. John Newman, in Oswald and the CIA made a good case of showing that it is unclear exactly when the FBI knew of Oswald presence in N.O. at that time and that at least in one instance they were wrong on the date of his employment with Reily.

Newman wrote on page 288 of his book:
“Then something strange happened : the FBI lost track of Oswald for two months, from April 24, through June 26. These dates cover Oswald’s move to New Orleans and his first month of FPCC activity there.”
Newman also noted that there is at least one instance in which a FBI report about Oswald employment with Reily was giving a false date. At page 348, Newman wrote:
”On September 10, 1963, Special Agent Hosty sent a report to the Bureau and to New Orleans. (…) Hosty then said Oswald had been working at the William Reily Coffe Company on August 5. He apparently did not know that Oswald had been fired from his job at Reily Coffee on July 19.”

In addition of this foggy period in Oswald's chronology, another curious fact tends to give credibility to the possibility that Oswald took a trip to Montreal at this time. On May 29, just after his hypothetical return from Montreal, Oswald used the name “Osborne” when ordering FPCC handbill in New Orleans. The curious things are that: 1) Osborne was the name of Oswald’s companion on his us trip to Mexico, and 2) that Osborne was from Montreal. That opens many questions: Did Oswald knew Osborne during his spring trip to Montreal? Did Osborne travel to Montreal with Oswald just as he did when Oswald got to Mexico to visit the Cuban embassy? Was Osborne, in Montreal, an handler of Oswald in his FPCC penetration activities?

In conclusion, given Jean-Paul Tremblay’s credibility as a witness (he was a professional investigator); given Aurelien Chassé and Lawrence Fleshman’s endorsement of Tremblay’s account (they were U.S. treasury high officials); given the fact that both RCMP and FBI have not dismissed Tremblay’s account and had made investigative works on its basis; given the hole in Oswald’s whereabouts and his use of the Osborne name that seems to corroborate his contact with this Montrealer; I am on the opinion that Oswald was indeed the man seen by Tremblay in Montreal. Obviously, such a trip wasn’t initiate on his own and had intelligence purposes.

A WORD ABOUT THE BLOOMFIELD ARCHIVES

First of all, one word to explain my lack of follow up on this topic.

In the last weeks, I had a few professional and personal family matters that needed (and still need) a lot of my time. Even if I had opened a series of posts on the subject of Oswald’s presence in Montreal, I had to put it aside for those personal matters.

But mainly, the principal reason why I didn’t have spare time for those posts was that I also had to give priority to another demanding timely task. This other subject wasn’t a personal thing, and, in fact is something that would be of interest to anybody following this blog : writing and filing court papers relating to the opening of Louis Mortimer Bloomfield’s documents at Library and Archives Canada.

I did write a little about this topic on one of my first posts named “Things to come in this Blog”. At the time, I wrote this text:

Congratulation for your research on the Canadian National Archives. In reaction to Len Colby’s negative post I was about to reply to him, but I’m glad that you were able to show Len that my information on the Bloomfield archives are somehow founded in fact and reality.

I should admit that I resented a little that Len called me a "semi-literate anonymous blogger". Even more since my name is quite easy to find on my blog and that any "semi-literate" reader should be able to deduct it. Here, understand that I don’t want to be insulting to Len, but I can’t resist to be a little sarcastic, Really, when I see somebody reading a blog where the author’s name is quite evident, concluding that this author is an anonymous blogger –really I wonder how this kind of highly deductive mind can solve the JFK assassination mystery…

Anyway, I'm not in this to engage in personal conflict, but I'm willing to give information for those who really want to do serious research.

Even if Google is a fantastic tool to do research, one has to use his brain when he wants to find something new, and, please, Len and everyone else, don’t say it doesn’t exist because you don’t find it on a simple search in Google.

For instance, in Google, if you just type "Bloomfield archives" you won't find anything on the Canadian National Archives, except for my blog. But, if you type "National Archives Canada" you will eventually find their sites. There, at: http://www.collectionscanada.ca/archivianet/02012302_f.html , you can type the name "Bloomfield". In the results, you will find the LM Bloomfield collection.

Following the links in this page you will find that a new access restriction was made in April 2005 (http://data2.collectionscanada.ca/pdf/pdf001/r000000675.pdf ) and you'll also find a fascinating description of the fonds at: http://data2.collectionscanada.ca/pdf/pdf001/p000000813.pdf . (For one thing, you’ll have confirmation in this listing that Bloomfield had correspondence with George Bush Sr…, something that you won’t find on the web or in any JFK book. )

Now if you want confirmation that there is indeed a legal battle on this subject in Canada, you can eventually find the Canadian Federal Court website. There at: http://www.fct-cf.gc.ca/IndexingQueries/infp_queries_e.php , yyping my name "Philipps" as a party, you'll find out that there is indeed a "MAURICE PHILIPPS c. BIBLIOTHECAIRE ET ARCHIVISTE DU CANADA" judicial review process filed there.

I'm in this case since 2 years now and its takes lot of energy. That's the main reason I didn't post regularly on my blog.

Now, I should add that I'm looking toward Bloomfield's papers in order to find out the historical truth about him. I'm quite critical on what was said about Bloomfield: the sources on him are dim and even the simplest facts about him have been distorted. To give you a basic example, it was said that Bloomfield was an American, but the bio from the National Archives will show you that he was a Canadian.

I think that researches on Louis Bloomfield should follow a factual trail starting with the fact that, as a lawyer, he was said to be a major stock holder of Permindex "FOR PARTIES UNKNOWN". Finding out who were those parties for whom attorney Bloomfield was acting is the first thing to find out, and I believe the Bloomfield archives can give you this information. In fact, I think that the Bloomfield archives description is pointing toward some new names in the case. Google a few of them, Namebase them, go to library and look for books about them and you may find something new pointing to the.. Corsican trail. Speaking of books, Googling and Namebasing, I’m surprised to see that nobody ever reported a Lansky-Bloomfield connection that is documented in a book that had nothing to do with the JFK assassination. Still, it is written in a book easily accessible on the internet. You can’t just find it on Google, but if you look in some other of the Google services, you will learn something new.

Now, if Len wants to apologize for calling me a "semi-literate anonymous blogger", I will gladly pardon him. Except for being French speaking and for having a less than perfect English, I don't think I deserve this kind of name calling and I hope that this forum is not a place for that.

Now, on the subject of Oswald in Montreal, I would like to share some comments on the Tremblay sighting and on the FBI report about it. But that will have to wait tomorrow or later, if time doesn’t permit. For today, I’m leaving you with the transcript of the most relevant passages of the FBI reports that I have reproduced earlier.

“Aurelien Chasse, Senior Customs Representative, United States Treasury Department, Montreal, Canada, advised the United States Secret Service, Washington, D. C, that several persons had contacted his office and stated that LEE OSWALD had been seen distributing pamphlets entitled “Fair Play for Cuba,” on St. Jacques and McGill Streets in Montreal during the summer of 1963. In this letter, a copy of which was furnished to the Federal Bureau of Investigation by the Secret Service on December 11, 1963, Mr. Chasse also advised that Jean Paul Tremblay, Investigator, Customs and Excise, Montreal said on November 27, 1963, that he, Tremblay, had received one of the above—mentioned pamphlets from a man St. Jacques Street in Montreal. He said he believed this incident occurred in August, 1963, and he, Tremblay, is positive this individual was LEE OSWALD. According to Mr. Chasse, Tremblay said OSWALD at the time was accompanied by a short, homely, heavy woman who took unusually long steps when walking and by two men about the same age and weight as OWALD. Mr. Tremblay described one of the men as a little taller than OSWALD with a freckled face. He said he believed he could identify the three persons who accompanied OSWALD and the reason he paid special attention to these persons at the time was that he Tremblay was working on cases involving Cuba at that time.”

“Tremblay, on contact by the above agency, said on the date he had been given the pamphlet by the person he positively identifies as OSWALD, he also saw approximately six other people handing out leaflets. He said he is uncertain about the dates the incident took place butt believe it occurred in August, 1963, Photographs of persons participating in the Quebec—Washington-Guantanamo Walk for Peace in Montreal on June 7 and 8, 1963, were shown to Mr. Tremblay and he positively identified two of them as having been engaged in the distribution of leaflets on the day in question. One of the persons he positively identified was the woman referred to by Chasse in his letter to the Secret Service. The other person identified by Tremblay was believed by the agency making the above inquiry to be a Mr. Fred Moore of San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Tremblay could not identify any of the other people in the photographs as having been present on the date in question nor could he point out the person who gave him the leaflet and whom he believes to be OSWALD.”

“All additional efforts by the above agency to locate anyone who could state that LEE HARVEY OSWALD had been in Montreal in the Summer of 1963 were negative. The agency pointed out that while Mr. Tremblay believes the incident took place in August, 1963, it would appear on the basis of his identification of the photographs that the event more probably took place in June, 1963.”

Here is the full FBI report that contained all the details of the Jean-Paul Tremblay sighting of Lee Harvey Oswald in Montreal. This report have been hidden from the Warren Com, probably because its revealed that the Tremblay's account was given enough credential to justify further investigation from both the RCMP and the FBI.

For the present post, I'm just reproducing the pictures of this report. I will give more information on its content in the next posts. (Unfortunately, I'm a little too busy with some personal matters to spend all the time I should on this Blog.) But a word of caution: I made contact with people that were in the Quebec-Washington Guantanamo Walk for peace, and they disagree with the FBI on the identification of character #1 as being Fred Moore.

OSWALD SEEN IN MONTREAL: A VERY OFFICIAL LETTER

More than a vague rumour, the fact that Lee Harvey Oswald was seen in Montreal in the Summer of 1963 was the subject of a very official formal letter sent by a Montreal branch of the US Treasury Department to the Secret Service in Washington.

This letter merits some thoughtful consideration. Before rejecting reports placing Oswald in Montreal as unfounded rumours, we should appreciate the fact that at least one report to this effect was considered credible enough to be the subject of an official letter signed by both the Senior Customs Representative based in Montreal and by a regional Supervising Customs Agent.

Mr Tremblay also stated that Oswald was accompanied at the time by a short, homely, heavy woman who took unusually long steps when walking and two men about Oswald’s age and weight. One of these two men is described as a little taller than Oswald and has a freckled face. Mr Tremblay also stated that he believes he could identify the three persons that accompanied Oswald and that the reason for paying special attention to these persons was because he was working on cases involving Cuba at the time.

Would officials from the Bureau of Customs have signed such an official letter on a such important matter, if they didn’t believe in the seriousness of its content? Surely not! So, maybe we should not dismiss the possibility that Lee Harvey Oswald was indeed in Montreal at some time during the Summer of 1963. The FBI and the RCMP didn’t dismiss it entirely. Like we will see in the next post, they made some effort to resolve this matter. They were even able to identified one of Oswald’s companions from a series of photographs taken during the Quebec-Washington-Guantanamo Walk for Peace.

WAS OSWALD SENT TO CANADA TO INFILTRATE
THE COMMITTEE FOR NONVIOLENT ACTION (CNVA) ?

Even if most researchers of the JFK assassination may dismiss entirely the possibility that Lee Harvey Oswald made a trip to Montreal in the Summer of 1963, some researchers invested lot of efforts to find out the truth about this rumor.

For one, researcher Gary Shaw who initiated many FOIA requests on the JFK assasination, went at length to obtain more files about the reported sighting of Oswald in Montreal. Shaw even went as far as filing court procedures against the FBI to obtain an album of photographs of the Quebec-Washington-Guantanamo walk for peace, listed in Warren Commission exhibits listing. The photographs were annexed to a heavily redacted FBI memorandum dealing with allegations that Lee Harvey Oswald was in Montreal during the Summer of 1963.

Not small hearsay rumours, the allegations were in fact an official report from a US Customs senior representative to the effect that a Canadian Custom and Excise investigator (Jean-Paul Tremblay) saw Lee Harvey Oswald distributing Fair Play for Cuba Committee leaflets in Montreal. The report even stated that the investigator was able to identified two individuals that were distributing leaflets with Oswald from photographs taken during the Quebec-Washington-Guantanamo Walk for peace.

After many court orders, appeals and reversals, in 1984 the FBI succeed to keep the photo album away from Gary Shaw and the public eye.

But 8 years later, in 1992, the JFK Records Act forced the FBI to open its files, and the album, with lot of other documents on Oswald’ Montreal sighting, were made available at the National Archives. I was able to consult and photocopy them during a short visit in 1996. To my knowledge, nobody ever published them.

In the present series of posts, I will put online the ten photographs that were in this album and new un-redacted memos that even specify the name of one man that was distributing FPCC leaflets with Oswald.

They are the most interesting of them all because, according to Jean-Paul Tremblay, characters #1 and #2 (the two at the left) were with Oswald in Montreal. In a memo that I will also reproduce in the next post, character #1 is identified as Fred Moore, an important figure of the USA non-violent movement of the sixties. Was Oswald sent in Montreal to infiltrate this movement? That’s what we will discuss in the next posts.

CONSPIRACIES IN MONTREAL PART II: JAMES EARL RAY AND MONTREAL FRENCH CONNECTION

While we know as an historical fact that John Wilkes Booth traveled to Montreal and was recruited in this city by Confederate agents to participate in a plot again Abraham Lincoln, “history” is less affirmative about the Montreal presence of James Earl Ray and Lee Harvey Oswald, the two men that “history” designated as assassins of Martin Luther King and John F. Kennedy.

In fact, “history” only accept the reality of the James Earl Ray presence in Canada and even open minded researchers of the JFK assassination are perplexed about any presence of Oswald in Montreal.

So, even if chronologically the Kennedy assassination happens before, let start by examining the least controversial of the two Montreal presences.What we know about James Earl Ray presence in Montreal is basically due to his own account delivered in his autobiography: Who Killed Martin Luther King Jr.?: The True Story by the Alleged Assassin.

The same facts, with further research on the characters and events reported by Ray, are also exposed in two important books by his last lawyer William F. Pepper: Orders to Kill: The
Truth Behind the Murder of Martin Luther King, Jr and An Act of State: The Execution of Martin Luther King.

After escaping from a Missouri jail in April 1967, James Earl Ray traveled to Canada. In July 1967, he was in Montreal, hanging around at Neptune’s, a seamen bar near the port. In search of papers or some work on a boat going to Europe, Ray, according to his own story, met a shadowy smuggler named “Raoul” or “Raul”. Even if Ray feared to go back in the United States, Raoul who told Ray that he would be able to get him a forged passport in return for his help, convinced the fugitive to participate in a smuggling scheme between Canada and US.

Most of the researchers of the MLK assassination didn’t pay a lot of attention to this Canada-USA smuggling scheme. Since Ray alleged that he was framed-up by Raoul who asked him to buy the murder weapon in Memphis for smuggling purpose, researchers were more interested by Ray and Raoul’s later guns smuggling activities between USA and Mexico. But Ray and Raoul’s Canada-USA traffic activities shouldn’t be overlooked because they reveal an essential aspect of the MLK conspiracy: the fact that its source is deep rooted in the French Connection heroin traffic milieu.

Even if it is not worded in black ink on white paper, it is clear from the context that what ray and Raoul were carrying across the border was dope. Ray wrote in his book how he used taxis to smuggle packages between Windsor and Detroit; it is evident that Ray wasn’t passing guns in a cab. More specifically, Ray wrote about Raoul and himself that: “we'd meet in Windsor, he'd hand over the contraband and leave, then I'd carry his package down to Detroit, where we'd hook up again.” It is clear that the contraband he is talking about is something small, something that neither the uncooperative taxi drivers or the Customs officers will notice in a cab. And for sure this thing can only be drug.

That James Earl Ray might have been drawn, against his knowing, in the MLK conspiracy by members of Montreal’s French Connection is interesting when one take in account that William Pepper reported in An Act of State that: “Raul was identified as a person seen in the company of Jack Ruby in 1963, usually at the Carousel, Ruby's other Dallas club. Beverly Oliver said
that on one occasion, she remembered Raul giving Ruby $20,000.”

From the research done for my book “De Dallas a Montreal” (see previous posts) and from information gathered after its publication, I can confirm that Jack Ruby, already known to be implicated in heroin traffic, was in contact with member of Montreal French Connection, more specifically with Lucien Rivard, an important arm and heroin trafficker linked to Jos Bonanno and
Montreal Cotroni family.

Since he was arrested in 1965, it is sure that Rivard could not have been an active part of the MLK assassination. But still according to author William Pepper, other people from the Montreal Mafia
took a part in it. In his book, Orders to Kill, Pepper reports that Jules Ricco Kimble, a CIA contract agent, confided to him that Luigi Greco, one of Bonanno family top lieutenant in Montreal, had a part in it. According to Kimble, some of Greco’s men did fly from Québec to Memphis to take part in Martin Luther King assassination.

DID JOHN W. BOOTH, JAMES E. RAY AND LEE H. OSWALD
ALL CAUGHT THE ASSASSIN VIRUS IN MONTREAL?

PART I: JOHN WILKES BOOTH

"I CANNOT SEE HOW THE CROWN CAN ARGUE
THAT CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT A CRIME IN THE UNITED STATES
IS A CRIME IN CANADA."

Believe it or not, the above argument was given consideration by Judge Jules Desmarais who dismissed the charges against the Bronfman's brothers, Seagram's owners, in one of Canada biggest judicial case, referred to in the press as the "huge liquor conspiracy". Ironically, Seagram's, the company whose founders used this kind of rhetoric, is today one of United States' political parties principal contributors.

The fact that Canada may be used as a safe haven where criminals can’t be prosecuted for planning crimes in the USA, is probably the reason why three of American history biggest political conspiracies had ramifications in Montreal. Those three political crimes being the Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King assassinations.

Seventy years before Bronfman’s attorney’s 1935 sophism, Confederate spies had the same line of thought during the Civil War when they used Montreal as one of their sanctuaries. At this time, Confederate intelligence officers used Montreal's St. Lawrence Hall, a prestigious hotel on St. Jacques street, as their headquarter.

History mainly recall how, from there, they plan a raid in Union’s territory to commit a series of bank robberies in St. Albans, Vermont. An act of war, the raid was of an unusual violent nature in a part of the country that was far from the combat zone. In the press, it was commented with critical text such as this:

Montreal Gazette, Tuesday Morning, October 20, 1864
Outrage at St. Albans
St. Albans, Vt., 19th. -- A party of 20 rebel raiders entered this place this p.m. shooting and killing the citizens. They robbed all the banks, stole 15 or 20 horses, killed 4 or 5 and wounded several. They have left town but are expected back soon with a large force. If there is no error or exaggeration in this statement, a gross outrage has been committed, in a peaceful and thriving village, situated on the Vermont Central Railway, a short distance from Rouses Point, and not far from the borders of Canada.

The raiders were able to escape from Vermont and to enter Canada where 13 of the robbers were arrested. Some $80,000 were confiscated from them. Using the same line of thought that Bronfman’s attorney will use years later, Justice Smith of Montreal refused to extradite the Confederate bank robbers. After a short detention, the Confederate criminals were given their liberty ... and even some of their confiscated stolen money back.

Still, in October 1864, a more sinister conspiracy had its root in Montreal St. Lawrence Hall hotel. A this time a famed young American actor made an unusual trip up north to meet with Confederate agents. The actor’s name was John Wilkes Booth and his contacts were the heads of the Secret Service, Jacob Thompson and Clement Clay.

Few weeks after those meeting, in mid-November, Booth was back in Washington. Booth carried with him a letter of introduction from the Confederates addressed to Dr. William Queen of Charles County, Maryland. This letter led Booth to meet with Dr. Samuel A. Mudd in November of 1864. With Mudd and others, Booth began putting together an operation to capture Abraham Lincoln and transport him to Richmond. By capturing Lincoln they expected to force the federal government to return Confederate prisoners of war who were confined in Union prisons and then return them to fight Union forces.The attempt to capture the president took place on March 17, 1865. The President, however, changed his plans and luckily escaped the conspirators’ plot only to fall in a deadlier trap. Two weeks later, the long Union siege of the Confederate capital of Richmond, Virginia ended. Then, one week later, on April 9, 1865 General Lee was forced by General Grant to surrender. These Confederate failures apparently gave Booth the incentive to carry out his final fatal plan. Five days after General Lee's surrender, Booth, according to the official version, took the initiative to assassinate Lincoln inside Ford's Theatre. One of Booth accomplices, John H. Surrat escaped to Montreal where he received help to get on a boat to Italy where he enrolled in the Pontifical Zouaves.

THE THINGS TO COME ON THIS BLOG (2)

Lee Harvey Oswald in Montreal

Beginning tomorrow, I will post a series of articles that will end with the exclusive publication of the picture of a woman said to have been seen with Lee Harvey Oswald in Montreal, distributing Fair Play for Cuba leaflets.

Tomorrow, the first part of this series will expose a very peculiar phenomenon: the fact that the 3 greatest political "assassins" of American history, i.e. Lee Harvey Oswald, James Earl Ray and John Wilkes Booth, were all reported to have visited Montreal before "committing" their crime. The words "assassins" and "committing" being put inside quotes since those 3 assassins all seem to have been scapegoats having little or no part at all in a bigger conspiracy.

Talking about Montreal, the second part of this series will deviate a little and relate the fact that, in 1940, Ramon Mercader, Leon Trotsky’s murderer, had with him a passport stating that he was living in Montreal. That being said, I will share with you a FBI report revealing an astonishing bond between Leon Trotsky and baron de Rothschild. Was the communist intellectual an agent of the Rothschilds?

The third part will deal directly with the Oswald in Montreal topic. We will review and evaluate the credibility of witnesses putting Oswald in Montreal a few weeks before the Dallas assassination. According to a report from a U.S. Customs officer, Oswald was seen in Montreal distributing Fair Play for Cuba leaflets on a Montreal street corner that now host Montreal’s World Trade Center.

Fourth, this Blog will show for the first time the picture of an unidentified woman that was with Oswald in Montreal. Those documents obtained from the US National Archives were never publish before. Finding out who is this woman may bring new light on the JFK assassination.

ON THIS SUNDAY, SOME FOOD FOR THOUGHT

On this Sunday, I can't resist a temptation that have nothing to do with sin.
Well, this temptation is indeed some kind of a sin, but not against God, only against the hard logic and objectivity that we should always obey in our search of historical truth. What I want to do is sharing with you a long Bible quotation, a full Psalm that seems to have been written, thousands of years ago, about the JFK assassination…

Before going further, I want to reassert my firm belief in the importance of logic and objectivity, more specifically of “journalistic objectivity”. As much as I can, that is as much that I’m self-conscious about that, my research of information, and ultimately my quest for truth, will always been conducted with the greatest objectivity, with respect for reality. Sure, there is a great debate about what is objectivity. In a few simple words, objectivity is for me (and that in itself is subjectivity) the search of “objects” –of facts, and an effort to verify and validate their reality. Subjectivity being the interpretation of those facts, the elaboration of opinions and, worse of all, the invention of conclusions that are pseudo-facts based on facts that were either not validated or wrongly interpreted.

I don’t want to go too far on this objectivity/subjectivity discussion but I want to make clear that I don’t consider those two terms as white and black, good and bad. Subjectivity is a quality that should be cultivated, it is per se creativity. But it is not what one should express in a courtroom. In journalism or historical research, subjectivity should be put at the service of objectivity. It is the creative force that will allow an author to find out new trails to investigate, new places where to be objective. The secret here is to be self-aware and to be able to know when own use subjectivity.

All of that just to tell you, very objectively that, in the next lines, I will be subjective but that it shouldn’t be my usual style.

So, on this Sunday, I want to share with you an interesting finding that tends me to believe that everything in this world is part of a bigger picture; that even events that we may consider as tragedies or crimes are parts of a plan. It was not my intention but, writing those lines, I’m just finding out that what will follow can be of great help for people who are affected or disturbed by events such as the JFK, RFK and MLK assassinations. Too often, people, who start to consider that secret power and “conspiracy” are ruling our highest political world, are deeply troubled and even fall in depression. The idea that those conspiracies are small parts of a bigger picture may be of comfort for many, because it tends to credit the belief that there is a higher reality greater than the “highest political world”.

So here is the story I want to share. Years ago, after I had spend a lot of time on reading about and researching the JFK assassination, a friend told me he had heard something about prophecy that were hidden in the Bible and that were supposed to be related to the present time.

This short description made me think of the Bible Code. I have read a little about it and wasn’t giving a lot of credence to what seems to be an “after the fact” interpretation. It seems to me that if you choose any historical event then search in all the Bible for something that seems to relate to it, the probability was very high that you may find something that sounds alike.

But my friend told me he knew about the Bible Code but was referring to something else. What he did heard was quite more specific. According to some source, the Psalms were prophecies for the twentieth century and beyond. Beginning at the year 1900, every of the 150 Psalms was related to one of the last years before the end of times; i.e.: Psalm 1 was about year 1901, Psalm 2 on year 1902 and so on.

I was very sceptic about such a thing. My first reaction, being so much involved in a JFK assassination research was to say: “If it is so, and the JFK assassination being the main event of year 1963, Psalm 63 most surely make reference to it.” Picking the Bible on my library shelf, I crack it open an read the Psalm 63 with him:

A Psalm by David, when he was in the desert of Judah.

63:1 God, you are my God.
I will earnestly seek you.
My soul thirsts for you.
My flesh longs for you,
in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.
63:2 So I have seen you in the sanctuary,
watching your power and your glory.
63:3 Because your loving kindness is better than life,
my lips shall praise you.
63:4 So I will bless you while I live.
I will lift up my hands in your name.
63:5 My soul shall be satisfied as with the richest food.
My mouth shall praise you with joyful lips,
63:6 when I remember you on my bed,
and think about you in the night watches.
63:7 For you have been my help.
I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.
63:8 My soul stays close to you.
Your right hand holds me up.
63:9 But those who seek my soul, to destroy it,
shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
63:10 They shall be given over to the power of the sword.
They shall be jackal food.
63:11 But the king shall rejoice in God.
Everyone who swears by him will praise him,
for the mouth of those who speak lies shall be silenced.

“Well…, I said, there is not a lot there that seems to apply to the JFK assassination.”

But, just when I was saying that, I noticed that in my version of the Bible, the Psalms were gave two numbers. Because Psalm 9 was counted for two and was given number 9-10, the following Psalms were numbered 11 (10), 12 (11) and so on. This way, the Psalm that, according to my friend, should apply to year 1963 may be Psalm 64 (63). We read it:

64:1 Hear my voice, God, in my complaint.
Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
64:2 Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked,
from the noisy crowd of the ones doing evil;
64:3 who sharpen their tongue like a sword,
and aim their arrows, deadly words,
64:4 to shoot innocent men from ambushes.
They shoot at him suddenly and fearlessly.
64:5 They encourage themselves in evil plans.
They talk about laying snares secretly.
They say, “Who will see them?”
64:6 They plot injustice, saying, “We have made a perfect plan!”
Surely man’s mind and heart are cunning.
64:7 But God will shoot at them.
They will be suddenly struck down with an arrow.
64:8 Their own tongues shall ruin them.
All who see them will shake their heads.
64:9 All mankind shall be afraid.
They shall declare the work of God,
and shall wisely ponder what he has done.
64:10 The righteous shall be glad in Yahweh,
and shall take refuge in him.
All the upright in heart shall praise him!

“Conspiracy of the wicked, (…) who sharpen their tongue like a sword,
and aim their arrows, deadly words, (…) to shoot innocent men from ambushes.” Well, my friend and I were astonished. Were those words written about 1963 and the JFK assassination?
It may be wrong to give a definitive answer to that question, one way or another. But it will be worse not to even ask ourselves the question.

Even if he was offered a $20,000 bribe, transmitted by high officials of the Canadian government, attorney Pierre Lamontagne, attorney for the US Justice Department, opposed Lucien Rivard’s bail.

After John F. Kennedy assassination, Mafia boss Joe Bonanno (right) preferred to be incarcerated in Montreal instead of being extradited to the United States. Rivard’s lawyer, Raymond Daoust (left) was also representing Bonanno and made simultaneous solicitations for him to the Canadian Immigration minister and to attorney Pierre Lamontagne.

At the beginning of the 1960’s, William Obront was only known as a meat industry millionaire and was maintaining close contacts with associate Canadian Defense secretary Pierre Sevigny. In the 1970’s, CECO (a Quebec official inquiry on Organized Crime) identified him as the financial manager of the Cotroni family. Exiled to Costa-Rica, he met numerous times Norman LeBlanc, a man supposed to have discussed the buying of a gun “good to kill Kennedy” in New Orleans, in 1963.

On October 10 1963, US Customs Agents at Laredo, Texas arrested Lucien Rivard’s courrier and make the second most important seizure of narcotics of the time. The heroin was coming from Mexico and was furnished by Paul Mondolini, a Santos Trafficante associate and a relation of French agent Michel-Victor Mertz that was expelled from Dallas the day after John F. Kennedy assassination.

Eight months later, in June 1964, after Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy gave order to start extradition process against them, Lucien Rivard and his accomplices Julien Gagnon, Raymond Jones and Charles-Emile Groleau were arrested in Canada.

With Carmine Galante (above right) and his right hand man Salvatore Giglio (down left) Lucien Rivard ( down right) was in fact one of the top lieutenant of Jos Bonanno, the supreme chief of Montreal organized crime, that was seen by some as one of the planners of the JFK assassination.

NB: Bonanno’s implication in the JFK assassination is not commonly accepted. In fact, excepted for a mention from David Copeland (alias William Torbitt) in his Nomenclature of an Assassination Cabal, Bonanno’s name is rarely seen in the JFK assassination literature. Interestingly enough, in this manuscript, Bonanno is named as an associate of Major Louis Mortimer Bloomfield, a Montreal lawyer that was Clay Shaw’s associate in Permindex and the Centro Mondiale Commerciale. THE LINKS BETWEEN THE JFK ASSASSINATION
AND THE LUCIEN RIVARD AFFAIR

Mexico City, October 1963

In Summer 1963, Michel Caron is only a small criminal having to his credit only some minor burglaries. Father of four children, Caron needs money. Being in touch with Lucien Rivard, he quickly accepts to run errands without asking questions. On September 26, 1963, Rivard, who needed an anonymous courier for an important operation, decided to send Caron and his wife to Mexico City, to bring back a packet...

Caron leaves immediately and enters Mexico on September 31. On October 2, like a simple tourist, he arrives in Mexico City, just as another visitor, Lee Harvey Oswald, is also in the city on a blindfold mission. Oswald leaves Mexico City on October 3. Caron, who has confided his car to some unknown peoples who have the task to hide something in it, innocently visited the city until October 9.

On October 10 1963, at the Mexico-United States border, the U.S. Customs officers search Caron's car and, by luck, discover 35 kilograms of heroine. At a market price of one million dollars a kilogram, this 35 millions seizure is the second most important of U.S. history. Submitted to a persuasive interrogatory, and confident that he, his wife and his four children will be protected, Caron starts to confess. First, Caron denounces his Quebec's accomplices and, finally, their chief, the recipient of the merchandise, Lucien Rivard himself.

Though he doesn't know their complete names, he finally identifies on photographs the Mexico City's suppliers. Thus he incriminates the Corsican Paul Mondolini, partner of Santos Trafficante and Michel-Victor Mertz, and considered as Mexico City heroin's king; Jorge Edouardo Moreno Chauvet, Mexico most important narcotics trafficker; Fulgentio Cruz Bonet, a Cuban exile; and Mafiosis Tony Farina and Frank Giovani Scalici, members of Carlo Gambino's New York's family, the most powerful chief of the U.S. Cosa Nostra.

Even if they didn't understand all the implications of this huge transaction involving such important international Mafia's characters, observers of the Rivard Case noticed that, on view of this file's importance, U.S. Attorney General Robert Kennedy did show personal interest to the case. Maybe his interest was motivated by his knowledge of the network to which participated Rivard.

So, the Rivard Case reveals the existence of an important heroin transaction, taking source in Mexico just at the moment when, according to Christian David, three Corsican killers where in Mexico City, in transit toward Dallas. Christian David was the French heroin trafficker that revealed to reporter Steve Rivele that a contract to kill John F. Kennedy was offered to him in Marseille. According to David’s story, he declined any participation in the contract but three Corsican shooters took a part in the assassination and where paid with heroin. In the BBC television series The Men Who Killed Kennedy, Rivele stated that he believe Paul Mondolini was the coordinator of the Corsican shooters.

Interestingly enough, the same Paul Mondolini was the source of the heroin that Lucien Rivard tried to import to the United States.

The ties linking Rivard to the Trafficante-Ruby network and the Mertz-Mondolini French connection, as well as the synchronism between Oswald's trip, the presence of Corsican assassins in Mexico City and the Rivard Case, had never been exposed anywhere, neither even suggested otherwise that by an obscur allusion to Lucien Rivard in The Plot to Kill the President, a book written by Robert G. Blakey, Chief Counsel of the House Select Committee on Assassination.

First of all: a word about my book.

Ten years have past since the publication of my essay, DE DALLAS À MONTRÉAL, La filière montréalaise dans l'assassinat de JFK*. Even if it got good reviews and a fair distribution in Quebec, Canada, this book didn't reach the American public neither the JFK assassination researchers community. I’ve never care too much about international publishing success, since I wrote the book in order to humbly share information that were overlook by American writers. But I still think that a few important pieces of the JFK assassination puzzle may be found in Montreal.
So, De Dallas à Montréal main originality was to show how Dallas’ crime of the century was related to Canada biggest political scandal: the Rivard Case. A complex affair, the Rivard Case started in October 1963 with a massive heroin importation from Mexico to the United States. Its principal actor, Lucien Rivard, a prominent Mafia captain was both a drug and arms smuggler and a financial backer of the Liberal Party of Canada.

During the late fifties, in Montreal, Rivard was one of the top officer of Jos Bonanno, the head of an important New York Mafia family. But what is more significant relatively to the JFK assassination is the fact that Rivard was an associate of Santos Trafficante, Jr. in Havana casinos and that he was smuggling arms in Cuba. According to the House Selected Committee on Assassinations, Rivard was one of Castro prisoners for whom Jack Ruby did negotiate in 1959. This fact wasn’t published in HSCA’s report since Rivard’s name was only reproduced in HSCA’s volumes of testimonies. But in 1981, in his book The Plot to Kill the President, G. Robert Blakey, chief counsel of the HSCA, flatly stated that Rivard was one of the prisoners that Jack Ruby tried to get released in 1959. Years after the publication of my book, and after Rivard’s death, his widows confirmed to a Montreal film producer that Rivard indeed was in contact with Ruby.

In 1964, after the JFK assassination, Rivard and Bonanno were jailed in Montreal, awaiting extradition to the U.S. Their attorney and high officers of both the Canadian Department of Justice and tthe Immigration Department offered bribe to the lawyer representing the United State in the two extradition cases. The scandal that followed finally forced the resignation of Canada Minister of Justice, Guy Favreau.

I HAVE SOME SECRETS FOR YOU is a Blog that I want to use to share unknown, often new and exclusive information about secret history. In this Blog, I'll try to transmit documented information that are the result of serious research. My main objective will always be to critic accepted perceptions and opinions about current events, politics and history, recent or old. And thus, in each post, to unveil some secrets to you.
As you’ll soon see, I’m quite interested in the JFK assassination. Since 12 years, I spend a lot of time researching it and, humbly, I do believe I have found out a few information about it that should be known by the public. I even wrote and published a book about it: De Dallas à Montréal, la filière montréalaise dans l’assassinat de JFK. Yes, it was in French. I’m am in fact a Québécois –a French Canadian*, for those of you that are not aware that Québec is a Canadian province where French is the majority language (it’s not a big secret, but, for those that didn’t knew that, at least you just learn something new).
